this was taken from a survey earlier this year and goes out to no one currently or in the past particularly unless I specifically state you or your character...take it all in stride and remember this is only a game and our Hobby...
...I get particularly peeved when handlers don't see the BIG picture of an angle but instead only see the immediate loss or run-in...the handler doesn't realize that the storyline is made to make everyone look good as well as tell a believeable story...no matter how hard you may have RPed...no matter how hard you may have put in on card promos...immediate success isn't there...everythin' comes in due time in GZW2K1...a point that I drive home everyday is that "struggle builds character"...if you look at ALL of the "big names" in GZW history you will see that all of the characters struggled to get to the top...and when they got there the handlers appreciated that much more...
Late shows...they happen...everyone has Real Life...not to discount anyone else's but everyone should know minus the new crew that I have a fulltime job...a wife...five children...take night classes and continue to give 100% to this thing we call a Hobby...I hate that when our shows are 3 to 4 days late but compared to the average fed that isn't late at all...add to the fact almost EVERY show we have put out since 2002 has been pay-per-view quality...there shouldn't be that much bitchin' goin' on...I am in no way condonin' late shows...but in the grand scheme of things they are normally late for a reason besides laziness...
Censorship...as much as I hate it and against it...I am a father and future educator of the youth...there are somethings I feel are just too offensive and as such won't allow it...even though most of you guys are almost of age...you aren't yet...true those that aren't have been apart of this fed since they were 12 and have grown accustomed...but in the big picture I just feel morally responsible...not takin' the social or polictical high ground or anythin'...it's just the dad in me...besides 99% of the things that are sent in to me as promos are used...it is a rare day I put somethin' on the edittin' room floor...
end rant...
Keep RPin'

This will save me a lot time when having to speak to (new) members, now! It's hard to explain, time and time again, what this fed is about and how it works and WHY people should join. It gets difficult telling the same ol' story and people still coming around and asking "why did this happen...?" Not to mention it's irritating having to repeat myself over and over and over lol. So all you new members, all you future member, and all you members that have been here a while that STILL question stuff... There you have it In final advice, as we have always said... Just have fun and enjoy the ride. Don't take anything to the heart or assume that the story reflects your RPing/writing skills because it most definitely does not.

Precisely, I was losing matches left right and centre at the end of last year, now I'm champion. Struggle builds character is perfectly true.

Or in some cases...you do just PLAIN SUCK! lmao
Sorry, had too.
But seriously, you always have to play off of what has happened. It's nothing but ammo to use against others.

yes I know it is a bit outdated but the GZW2K1 Rules (which are posted on the old site...see post entitled "All New Family Members) are the bare essentials of survivin' in the STORYLINE fed that is GZW2K1...as I know many haven't taken the time to read them or many have forgotten I decided to repost them here for all to see... ]1. Be original and creative. Do not copy or borrow heavily from an existing wrestler. Do not call yourself The People's Champ, Stone Cold, Y2K or anything else close. Also, please avoid using nicknames like the Hype, the Main Event, Whole Friggin' Show, etc. You can only use those names if you have accomplished something in this fed and your roleplays can back it up.
2. Please try to roleplay as often as possible. Twice a week would be good. The booking committee can only do so much for a character if the handler doesn't rp. Also, roleplay to let us know you are still alive.
3. Absolutely no complaining about wins, losses, etc. Everything happens for a greater purpose. If your wrestler is original, creative, entertaining, etc, you will be pushed to higher profile angles. Also, if your wrestler "loses", that does not mean he will not be pushed. Our matches are written to make everyone look great. Losses and run-ins are used to build heat and interest in feuds and angles. Same applies for titles. Titles are used to draw heat for certain wrestlers. The best wrestler does not necessarily have to have a title around his waist. An example of this is HHH in the WWE. The Rock was more "over" with the fans, but the belt was on HHH to help build up credibility and heat for him as "The Game". No selfishness in this fed.
4. Do not use another wrestler or valet in your roleplay without their permission. Email them or the booking committee. Bounce ideas off each other, but do not disrespect another person's wrestler. Someone's wrestler is their creation. Do not disrespect them.
5. For your first roleplay, cut a promo. For example, do a promo in your wrestler's element to help give a little background info about them. Maybe have them be interviewed by someone. But please, and I repeat, do not have the fans cheer for you. They do not know who you are. You are new to the fed, regardless of past efed history.
6. Keep roleplays mature and with minimal swearing. Do not use racial slurs, deragatory remarks, etc. If that is how you rp, you are in the wrong fed.
7. Have fun. Efed wrestling is a hobby, not a vicious sport.

8. Please keep content to a tasteful level. GZW2K1 supports free speech and freedom of expression but with that freedom comes responsibility. If you have any questions about content please contact a staff member.
9. Any champion who wins a title and then withdraws from the fed may be assigned a final match to lose the title. This is to reduce the alarming number of title vacancies. Any title forfeitures must be approved by the Head Booker before being announced. If you are booked in a match and you have to leave the fed for any reason you may be forced to wrestle in the final match. We will try to make appropriate accommodations but we cannot guarantee a match will be changed.
10. GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 operates under the assumption that it is the main promotion in our "wrestling world." That being said, references to other efeds should be mainly historical in nature and references to major real world federations or wrestlers should be avoided. Independent and promotions of other countries are allowed but kept to a minimum. GZW2K1 operates under it's own brand of Kayfabe. Above all else matches are real and not pre-determined. References to anything taking away from the realism of the storyline should be avoided. "Shoot" or "Inside" promos are allowed as long as they do not violate those two basic rules.
11. Part of GZW2K1's longevity is our excellent OOC environment. We pride ourselves on being able to have discussion without argument and good natured ribbing without explosions. Please respect your fellow handlers and keep all conversations civil. Personal attacks on the OOC will not be tolerated. Resolve any problems via direct contact with staff and refrain from using the OOC board for general indictments. Any specific complaints about results or issues between handlers should be addressed to the staff privately and not on the boards.
12. GZW2K1 Management reserves the right to modify these rules as necessary.
13. And last but definitely not least, try to have fun, I mean that is the whole purpose here isn't it?
If you have any questions feel free to contact any member of the staff.

hahaha this is my first time actually reading this thread... ever. But struggle... well it never ends so enjoy newbies. But in all honesty you will not find a better fed on the net that has been around and produced top quality for so many years. Tate's the master when it comes to storylines, even when it seems at the time he doesn't have a clue in hell... somehow he pulls it out in the end everytime and makes you look the ass for ever doubting him. So learn quickly and just keep your mouth shut and good things always come to those who wait. Alex PS: "Struggle Builds Character" should be stamped all over the place. I hate those bloody words and have heard them for upwards of five years but yet they are true and do work. Damn you, Tate.

I've used a couple of questionable remarks in my recent promos that might be bending the rules, but that was only to portray the old- fashioned nature of a character that I use besides my own.
Just thought I'd get that out the way.

I thought the homophobia thing might get a bad reaction, but if it didn't then I'm good with that.

Fair enough. I'm hardly mister PC but I don't know how other people take to it. Was looking at those rules there that made me think about it. If no one's bothered then great, it means I can make Frank a little... how do I put it.. quirky? You know how old people are with this stuff

Speaking for myself, I didn't even give it a second thought. If it's the character, then I say go for it.
