Source: The Wrestling Observer Newsletter
We reported earlier that The Wrestling Observer Newsletter had noted a big name of WWE's past - a multi-champion superstar was set to return with the company.
The January 14th edition of the Newsletter confirms that former multi-time WWE Champion Paul Wight - The Big Show - has either signed with the company or has agreed to a deal, and will be starting full-time very soon.
Big Show is down to 440 lbs after leaving pro wrestling to rest, and pursue a possible career in boxing, which obviously included boxing training that got him in quite a good shape. Dave Meltzer also mentions in the Observer that a part of his boxing deal was that Hulk Hogan was to be his "front man" acting like a manager in wrestling for him by doing promos and appearances. This was also the main reason many boxing promoters were actually interested in Big Show and paying him so much money to learn the sport. These plans, however, fell apart at some point, and Show realized that at his age, boxing might not be the right direction to go anyway. There have also been no recent updates or even talks of Hogan doing his own wrestling tour - a very discussed topic of the past. Hence with nothing on the horizon, Big Show is back with WWE.

Starting a boxing career in your mid 30s is just fuckin' silly...most are thinking of retirement by that time...just...stupid...

Fuck that, it'd mean putting Jeff Jarrett over him at some point. I'd like to see him back in WWE and see how the fans react to his return.

True...plus he might have to actually wrestle if he went to TNA and wrestling hasn't seen him wrestle for many years lol
Then again, if he's dropped a good 60lbs, that may have worked wonders for him physically

You could be right. 60 lbs is a lot of weight to drop. I mean this is a guy who used to be able to moonsault. Shame no one had the balls to take it, otherwise we'd have seen the coolest thing ever! But a chokeslam is still good.

um Rob...Jeff Jarrett isn't on the active roster in TNA...so him doin' the job for Double J isn't in the script...bring in Paul Wight...let him squash all these horrible big men they have...then either let him feud with whomever is the World Champ at the time or let him align with them if....

Ah right. Thing is, who's to say Double J is gonna stay off of it? You know more than me about that, but it is the wrestling business and it seems to be that only serious injury keeps you off the active roster, anything else and they just keep coming back. Big Show going back to WWE seems like a good thing, he can be used wherever he's most needed right now and it wouldn't be long before he's back in a title chase of some sort. Whether putting gold on him would be a good thing or not, we'd have to wait and see.

not to sidetrack...Jarrett has been pretty good about not forcin' himself back into TNA...when he did come back before his wife got seriously ill or passed away (I'm not sure which) he didn't immediately get into the main event...
I think usin' Wight to get over some guys whiole at the same time not jobbin' him out would have worked wonders in TNA...plus there is the lighter schedule and workload...disadvantage of course is the horrible bookin' over there...but meh...

hmm...I say put him back in ECW...he was doin' some of his best work while there....I definitely think he and CM Punk could do a great feud...

Good point, Punk seems to be feuding with the same lot probably due to a poor roster. I mean Elijah's alright, but The Miz and Big Daddy V? What did Punk do to deserve that?

The Miz's constant push baffles me to the utmost...how in the hell does a Real Worlder get pushed so hard is beyond me...the person that they lost that I think would have been a good feud would have been Alpha Male (forgot his WWE name) and Punk...

Marcus Cor Von was his name Tate, and JJ's wife died But I like Big Show in ECW, but there is really no one over there to feud him with other than CM Punk and Elijah Burke. Everyone else is either Big Daddy V or Miz or John Morrison pfffffffff Send him to SD that way he can get back up to speed about things and get the ring rust off....plus he won't be jobbed to 3H

I actually found John Morrison/CM Punk feud quite entertainin'...the little bit I saw of it...is Morrison still about...as far as Big Show in ECW it's a built in feud since he was the former ECW champ...bring him to feud directly with Punk...allow Stryker or whatever his name is who manages Mark Henry and Viscera to bring him in as a secret weapon...eventually as the feud grows have Show and Stryker get into some kind of heated discussion (i.e...over Henry's or V's constant interruptions or screwups in matches costin' show the title win)...Stryker and his crew turn on Show...thus leadin' to Punk comin' to rescue him (since their feud has created a mutual respect between the two)...those two would then feud with the other two...payoff would be Show/Punk facin' off in some kind of respect match...*end fantasy bookin'*
