There is talk around Ground Zero Global that UJW will cease it's operation of their Hardcore division. For the past year the United Japan Wrestling Hardcore Championship has been carried by GZW2K1 Globalstar Jericho "Raze" Cross. The popularity of hardcore/extreme wrestling has seemingly waned in the last two quarters of the year for not only wrestling in Japan but GZG as a whole.
Many believe that John Champa's reign as the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion will continue far after the 2008 Lord of the Coliseum tournament. Insiders believe that Champa as the World Champion has ignited a fire in other competitors which has translated well in ratings. Regardless of what happens at King's Ransom GZW2K1 has ready made main eventers in John Champa, Rupert Martin, Eva Hikari, and Jericho Cross to bolster the scene with Kandi Fortune-Corbin, Lord Leon Corbin, and Ring of Honor Icon Sean "Magic" Fiery.

Mods if this is truly spoiler tag worthy sorry for not putting the tag on it. I posted possibly spoilers in the title so I would hope that would be enough.

Further talk about Ground Zero Global is that now GZW2K1 will bring closure to it's Extreme division come the beginning of the new year. Reports out of Atlanta state that Aftermath2K8 will see the final Extreme Championship match. Lack of extreme competitors, reduction of championship titles within the company, and overall appeal of the genre are the reasons officials of GZW2K1 look to cease operations.
