It has been almost two months since the 2005 Lord of the Coliseum Seth Raide has been seen by anyone in GroundZero Global. Lord Raide is scheduled to face 2007 Lord of the Coliseum Leon Corbin at GroundZero Wrestling 2K1’s year end pay-per-view Aftermath2K8. There had been rumors that Lord Raide has been reluctant to sign the paperwork to make the match official. With Lord Raide’s disappearance booking is up in the air three weeks prior to the event. Rumors are already circulating that 2004 Lord of the Coliseum John Taylor is set to replace Lord Raide in this Battle of the Lords match.
2008 Lord of the Coliseum Ring of Honor Icon Sean “Magic” Fiery is more injured than he has let on in recent weeks. It is well documented that Lord Icon Fiery has had one of his most injured years in his lengthy career in GZW2K1. The current World Heavyweight Champion was scheduled to make an appearance at Tuesday Titan that broadcast from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, but no-showed the event. This explains why Rupert Martin was given the chance to close the Tuesday Titan show on the microphone. As of press time Lord Icon Fiery has not be pulled from his Aftermath2K8 where he will defend the World Championship against Martin, but talks have intensified concerning injecting another opponent into the match with United Japan Wrestling SuperHeavyweight Champion Kandi Fortune-Corbin and Ring of Honor Icon James “Monarch” Corbin at the top of the list.
Recently on Ground Zero Global Network the Ground Zero Global Unified Hardcore Champion Jericho “Raze” Cross let it be known that he would not be renewing his GZW2K1 contract with is set to expire December 31, 2008. After some investigation it has come to light that Cross was actually “asked” to part ways with the company due to “medical reasons”. Supposedly no new contract or contract extension was offered to the former GZG Triple Crown Extreme Champion.
