In news today, United Japan Wrestling SuperHeavyweight Champion, Kandi Fortune-Corbin, held a satellite press conference in which she relinquished Japan’s top wrestling title amidst tears of sadness. She thanked President and CEO Tenzun Fujinami for giving her “…the opportunity to spread my wings and soar the highest highest…”, all the UJW fans “…that continue to respect wrestling for the time honored sport it is and not debasing it nonsensical entertainment…”, and lastly to Hiroyoshi Nakanishi for “…being the consummate professional.” She went on to put over the Ferocious Lion hoping that UJW would give him the title and not go through the formality of a tournament that he would surely win anyway. Fortune-Corbin ended the press conference that she would have loved to continue representing UJW as the SuperHeavyweight Champion but with her impending pregnancy it would make things very hard.
It is believed that the Phoenix will make a special trip to Japan in the coming days to return the SuperHeavyweight Championship title back into the hands of Fujinami.
