With the events of Unity IV now past no word has yet to surface from Hong Kong Wrestling Federation authorities (see founder/CEO John Profit and COO Fox Giovianni) concerning the HKWF World Heavyweight Championship. Upon inspection of the official HKWF website, there has been no World Champion posted even though GroundZero Wrestling 2K1’s Eva Hikari defeated Mychael Lord before former HKWF World Heavyweight Champion Bane inserted himself into the match and pinned Hikari. It is a known fact that HKWF strives off of chaos and the indecision to name a World Heavyweight Champion looks to be what Profit is seeking to fuel the chaos.
With the Summer Heat Tour kicking off this month and the first leg having it’s annual start in Hong Kong, news floating about is that GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 is debating whether or not to continue with its extreme stipulations that normally accompany the broadcasts leading up to the Heatwave pay-per-view. Many are concerned with the high rate of injuries that come from the matches which in turn drives up the company’s insurance. Ground Zero Global already holds an enormous insurance policy because of Hong Kong Wrestling Federation.
There has been a sudden focus on Ground Zero Global to crown the first ever GZG International Heavyweight Champion. This Triple Crown would consist of the HKWF Hong Kong Heavyweight Championship, Canadian Stampede Wrestling Canadian Heavyweight Championship, and GZW2K1’s United States Heavyweight Championship. GZW2K1’s President Seth Richards, CSW’s Chief Operations Director Andrew Excelsior, and HKWF’s COO Fox Giovianni have all added their blessings to the union if it is to happen.
