Bryan Alvarez reports that WWE wants Shawn Michaels to appear at Wrestlemania 27 as a special guest referee in The Undertaker's match. The storyline idea would be that Michaels would have a chance for revenge by screwing over Undertaker. Of course, this all depends on if Michaels is interested and if Undertaker is recovered enough from surgery.
According to Alvarez, it's likely that WWE originally wanted Brock Lesnar to be in the special referee role.

According to Bryan Alvarez, WWE has a worse-case scenario plan if The Undertaker isn't close to 100% by Wrestlemania 27. The idea would be to put Undertaker in a tag-team match with Kane (Alvarez said not to ask why) against the Nexus. This would allow Undertaker to still be involved in a match at Wrestlemania without having to do much work.

Absolutely. Taker needs to be 100% and in singles competition for his eventual defeat to turn the other worker into a huge, huge name.

The only problem with that Nexus/Taker senerio is that Taker has already missed 2 Manias (10 and 16) so that wouldn't do any good.

Story on why Ron Myers was offered a FCW deal....
Funny Story on Why Recent WWE Developmental Cut & Northeast Indy Wrestler Ron Price Was Cut from the WWE, How Price Got His Job & More.
For those of you who don't know Ron Price, and that's probably a good percentage of you reading this, Ron Price used to wrestle in the northeast area. Price has decent size, but just a sloppy body. Price was one of the WWE developmental cuts this week. People weren't shocked that he was cut, but were shocked that he even got a developmental job to begin with, since he was just your generic indy cowboy, complete with Confederate apparel to match. Now, the story on how he got signed has leaked by many sources, including those in the WWE.
Again, when you look at Ron Price, he has nothing close to that "WWE look" and he wasn't unique like a Rey Misterio or a Bryan Danielson. He really looked like a generic indy guy who wouldn't even be ranked in the 400 section of the PWI 500. The only time his name only got real press was after fellow former WWE developmental cut (and according to NWS's Joe Panzarino "was personally fired by Vince McMahon") Kevin Matthews had an altercation with him at an ACE show a few years back.
Anyway, Ron Price used the moniker "The Last Outlaw" Ron Price. Apparently, Price also copyrighted the "Last Outlaw" name for wrestling purposes. According to a high ranking source in the WWE office, the WWE wants to use "The Last Outlaw" name for the Undertaker, because he doesn't have enough nicknames as it is already.
The WWE offered Ron Price $30,000 to buy the rights to "The Last Outlaw". However, Price turned the money down and asked for a developmental contract instead. So instead of a $30,000 lump sum, Price got paid $500 a week for three months or so. Price was never on FCW shows either, so he never even got a real look.
This was a great deal for WWE, because instead of paying $30,000 they hired Price for $6000 and then cut him. As part of Price's contract, he signed over the rights/intellectual property to the name "The Last Outlaw". WWE does stuff like this all the time. For example, the WWE also hired Greg Gagne and inducted Verne Gagne into the WWE Hall of Fame several years back, as part of acquiring the AWA library. When the 3 months were up, Greg Gagne was released.
So basically, WWE got what they wanted, the rights to "The Last Outlaw", for 1/5 the price they were willing to pay. For Price, he never had a shot to advance his career in FCW/WWE, because it was kept secret that they were just using him for the name.
Now Price returns to the indy scene, but can't call himself the "Last Outlaw" anymore. I guess for Price, at least he got $6000 and a 3 month vacation in Florida out of it.

So, WWE=corporate, greedy bastards? No way... 1. The Undertaker doesn't need the name whatsoever, like the article points out. 2. The Undertaker probably wanted the name because it's cool. If Undertaker wants, Undertaker gets. 3. Further proof Undertaker doesn't care about younger wrestlers trying to catch a break. 4. That idiot Price should have never signed a contract under those terms. 5. WWE is only PG on TV. Behind the scenes, they are rated XXX due to the raping of innocent lives. And then some...

Seano, don't blame that on Undertaker, that name is stupid anyway and was more fitting for Stone Cold. Besides, Price is the stupid one for even asking for a developmental deal, he knew he wouldn't even make it to TV especially if he had something that the WWE, not Undertaker, wanted.

I happen to think "The Last Outlaw" is an awesome nickname and I can see where it fits Taker as a "southern badass". It just sounds like it's more than creative shooting for the name. And I did say that Price is an idiot, so he really kinda deserved it. Sadly, now, I hope they use this nickname to a good potential, considering the raping WWE did to this guy. Might as well make it worthwhile...

But one thing you have to admit, the WWE is very cunning. That was a smart move to sign the guy to a Developmental Deal, knowing full well they won't use him, they saved $24,000, and Im sure Price is kicking himself in the ass lol....SOMEONE GOT GAMED, AND IT WASN'T THE E' LOL....

- In an interview with Slam Wrestling, Luke Gallows revealed that he was discussing plans for his character with WWE creative on Friday morning before finding out he was released in the afternoon.Gallows says he was shocked at how things panned out considering WWE was scheduled to debut his new babyface character next week on television. "I've not gotten to really break out, I've not gotten any good mic time," Gallows told Slam Wrestling. "I think that if I do that, and I present myself as a character that people can sink their teeth into, there's no reason that I can't be right back in the mainstream and on national television, in the next six months or a year." Gallows also said he had been working on a new "Roughneck" babyface character with Freddy Prinze, Jr. which he thought WWE management was happy with. "The agents always acted like they were into it. The creative people, I don't know if it was a Vince (McMahon) thing or Johnny (Laurinaitis) not to go for it," he said. Interview in its entirety
