WMD
“The Weapon of Mass Destruction”
Real Name: Will McDonald
Hometown: Dublin, Ireland
Height: 6’7
Weight: 290lbs
Theme Music: “Seek & Destroy” by Metallica
Having spent the best part of a decade as GZW2K1 developmental star Willie Haire, Will McDonald has moved on. From 2008 until late 2010, McDonald underwent an intensive training regimen at GZW2K1’s Trouble Trax facility in Atlanta, Georgia. He emerged afterwards with a much more refined skill set than the sloppy, smash-mouth style for which he was previously known. For a big man he has always been nimble and combining this with his new, more mature move set he is legitimately a force to be reckoned with. Combining surprising speed and agility with brute strength, he has come to UJW to forge his career anew and make a name for himself as a genuine, top-tier competitor.
To assist in his transition from jobber to Globalstar, McDonald has been rebranded as “The Weapon of Mass Destruction” WMD. The gimmick is rather flat and two dimensional, one that we’ve seen any number of times before: Generic destructive bad guy, basically. UJW creative felt it important to create as much distance between their new signing and his previous life as “Silly” Willie Haire; slack-jawed Irishman, roof-tile aficionado and lingering bad joke. Determined to truly make it in the big league, McDonald has made his peace with the limited originality of his new persona for the greater good. Out of character he hopes that the ends will justify the means, that he can put his shaky and often embarrassing past behind him and prove himself as a real wrestler.
Wrestling style: Powerhouse with above average speed and agility
Finishing Move: Mass Destruction (Gore, ideally from out of absolute nowhere)
Moves:
Vertical Suplex into a slingshot powerbomb.
Running big boot.
Gorilla Press into a Powerslam.
Reverse facelock into a Powerslam.
Diving shoulder tackle from top rope.
Jackhammer.
Running Powerbomb.
Lunging elbow from top rope.
Full nelson slam.
Accentuated high-angle back body drop.
Gaelic Football style kicks.
Strengths:
Physically very strong, big and fast.
Over ten years experience watching from the sidelines as a developmental star combined with two years intensive training at GZW2K1 Trouble Trax – He knows his stuff, in-ring and out.
Weaknesses:
No proven in-ring track record yet.
May not be accepted by fans/other wrestlers as a legitimate competitor; his past as a jobber lingers closely behind him and as such may find it difficult to truly get ‘over’ or get respect from his peers.
