And the feuds he was involved in sucked. Helms was fun until it became clear he'd just float around the midcard and stop being entertaining (and now he's just a bitter tool) and Booker got there after being buried what was it, twice? And then there's RVD. When he finally got there, he spoke of breaking the glass ceiling. That wasn't just something to say IC you know.
History shows it man, if you weren't made in WWE, your run is going to be shit or at the very least, will suffer.

From yesterday's Observer Radio...
As of 2/4, there has been no dialogue between Sting and WWE.

WCW did a good enough job of ruining Goldberg in their dying days. Booker T only really hit the top of the card in WCW in its dying days. Rey Mysterio was held down in WCW but went on to make it big in WWE. Same for Eddie Guerrero. Chris Jericho. Chris Benoit. Both companies are/were as bad as the other for burying talents.

It's an excellent creation. I just can't get giddy and never been able to for Sting. Bit too overhyped for what he is actually capable of in the ring.

When Sting was involved in his feuds with Ric Flair and the Great Muta back in WCW I loved watching those matches as I feel they are classics in their own. However with his run in TNA I've been less than impressed to say the least.

TNA does seem the place wrestlers go to die or wither away lol. Ya I've never had much interest in TNA as it seems nothing makes much sense. However the same can be said lately with my interest in WWE as I can't remember the last time I watched a Raw or Smackdown.

Same here honestly. The moment you step away from it, the more you realise what we do here is inifinite in quality over what people are paid far too much for.
TNA also seems the place to go when WWE won't let you take drugs either.
It's clear none of the big companies have any respect for the sport of wrestling and haven't had for a very long time. Sad really. I much prefer the small venues with real wrestling. The intimacy of it all and that you can see the talent clearly, really feeling a part of the show instead of an elaborate production where people have to give in to shit stories and little wrestling worth watching with an amazingly huge barrier between wrestlers and fans.

Wrestling was better off when the WcW and the WWE were at War, it forced both of them to really build new stars while having some great storylines going on, but the WcW had to go and ruin it by its mishandling of wrestling talent, booking and making David Arquette the World Champion.
I miss the days of the ratings war, and wish someone could build up a company enough to create it yet again, but that won't happen anytime soon.

But the fact there would be concentration on ratings wars still suggests it demeans the sport itself. They still wouldn't push talent, only the name that sells.

But during that ratings push we got new Talent, Triple H, Stone Cold, Rock, New Age Outlaws and Kane were all breakout stars during that time because they had to create new stars in order to compete, the high ratings were as a result of high consistent viewership.
