The New WWETo better reflect the company’s global entertainment offerings, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. (NYSE: WWE) announced today a new business model for future growth, including formally rebranding itself, WWE. Two key components to WWE’s brand expansion will be the active pursuit to acquire entertainment content companies and the outsourcing of WWE’s core competencies – television and film production, live event production and licensing. As part of the new business model, the company will also focus on the development of new television products including scripted, non-scripted and animated programs, as well as the launch of a new WWE network in the next 12-18 months. The first new program of the brand expansion is Tough Enough®, WWE’s non-scripted program that debuted on the USA Network on Monday. “The new business model of the company better reflects what WWE is all about, being a global entertainment company,” stated Vince McMahon, Chairman and CEO, WWE. “We will always be loyal to our core business that made WWE a globally known entity, however, the future of WWE will be the addition of new entertainment content opportunities beyond the ring.” This new rebranding initiative will be highlighted through a national consumer and business-to-business advertising campaign entitled “Bigger. Badder. Better.™” The campaign kicked off at WrestleMania® XXVII on Sunday and will be featured on cable TV, print and online. In addition to focusing on the expansion of the company, the company will bolster its core business with the launch a new talent development department headed by Paul “Triple H®” Levesque. The new department will put a greater emphasis on worldwide recruitment, training and character development to identify future WWE Superstars and Divas. The first recruit acquired under Levesque’s new department was the signing last month of future WWE Superstar, Sin Cara™, formerly known worldwide as Mistico. ~~ corporate.wwe.com/news/releases_2011.jspApril 5, 2011 Superstars Fined for Chair Shot Pursuant to WWE's Concussion policy, the stunt of using a folded metal chair shot to the head is prohibited. Triple H and The Undertaker have both been fined for violating this policy at WrestleMania XXVII. WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension for violation of this policy, which is unchanged and still in effect. ~~ There is backstage heat on both John Morrison and Melina. It centers around the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII, which saw Morrison repeatedly brush partner Trish Stratus off. During their post-match celebration, Stratus hugged Snooki and went to hug Morrison, but he had already turned his back on her. Morrison then led Snooki to the corner of the ring and used the Jersey Shore star as a shield, to guard himself from Stratus. The backstory behind Morrison's awkward body language is that either he or Melina, his real-life girlfriend, felt Stratus took her spot in the Six-Person Mixed Tag Team Match at Wrestlemania XXVII. The backstage belief is that he either holds Stratus in contempt for taking Melina's spot on the card, or had to portray himself as such so that she would believe he was anything but rude to her. Behind the scenes, Morrison rejected various ideas Stratus had for their match at WrestleMania XXVII, and was said to be very difficult to work with. His outright refusal to comply with any of her suggestions reportedly hurt her feelings. Word quickly spread amongst the locker room, garnering heat. Many feel Morrison's unprofessional behavior will set back his standing in WWE since Stratus is highly regarded amongst company personnel. While Morrison is considered a nice guy, he's not greatly respected amongst his peers. This dates back several years due to his real-life relationship with Melina. Particularly, he lost a lot of respect for allowing Melina to engage in a sexual relationship with former WWE talent Dave Bautista (a/k/a Batista) while the two were dating. The former WWE Champion made no qualms of being intimately involved with Melina in his 2007 autobiography, Batista Unleashed. He wrote: "My wife thought I was sleeping with Melina right off the bat, while we were still married. It wasn't true, but it did make me feel guilty about being friends with her. "Since then, as I've said, Melina and I have gotten closer and our relationship has become physical. That's caused a bit of controversy, but I don't give a shit. She's my friend, and I love her very much." Former WWE stars Paul London and Brian Kendrick alleged numerous behind the scenes stories involving Melina and Morrison in their 2010 "shoot" interview, Brian Kendrick & Paul London's Excellent Adventure. London stated that Morrison is 'spineless' because he repeatedly permitted Melina to engage in sexual activity with outside partners while the two were dating. He added that Morrison would accompany Melina on dates with her partner of choice. Kendrick also claimed that he himself had been intimate with Melina. Source: The Pro Wrestling Torch

Fined for a chair shot to the head? Wow...
No wrestling, no real proper physical interaction, inane stories and characters, talent no longer a requirement. I've seen better shows on Jerry Springer...How is this even considered entertaining anymore?

Melina sounds like a dirty whore. And Morrison?! Really dude?! Apparently his own good quality is his wrestling. Major bummer to hear this, assuming it's all true.

Rock on the Jay Leno Show~~ - Steve Austin recently spoke with Xfinity, promoting Tough Enough, here are the highlights… On CM Punk: I really like C.M. Punk. I think he's one of the top workers in the ring. I love his promos. I love his style. There's no smoke and mirrors. I like the straight-edge lifestyle stuff he does. You want to start pairing that against the beer-guzzling "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, I think you'd have an interesting feud to say the least. He would push me to the limits, I would teach that kid a thing or two, and there would be some wonderful promos going back and forth. I like him a lot. On Getting In The Ring On Tough Enough: One of the kids was pretty mechanically inclined, so I got in there with him…and shoot, I guess that means I haven't been in the ring in seven or eight years…but I took a few bumps from him, gave him a few bumps, it was a lot of fun. I think if we do it again, I think I'll be even more active and get in the ring a lot more. On A Possible Return: I could still, you know if I was in a bad situation, I could still get two years out of my carcass on a full-time basis." He then added, " But I'm happy where I'm at. And in ten or twenty years I still want to be doing the things I'm doing with my hunting and fishing. I want to continue to do that in a pain-free fashion. And right now I'm living a pretty pain-free lifestyle. On WWE's Roster: They're pretty thin on talent, they've had some injuries. They've brought the Rock in to host it. They brought me back. I didn't know if the Undertaker was going to make it, he's had some injuries. Triple H is getting back in the ring. Until they brought all those players out they had a lot of green guys. ~~ - Regarding the fallout from Monday's WWE Tough Enough premiere, Steve Austin wrote the following on Twitter about Melina and Alicia Fox: "let me bottom line something right now--i meant no disrespect to Melina or Alicia on TE. both women are class acts and hard workers. cheers." - There were reportedly hotel bar incidents with Matt Hardy and the WWE Tough Enough crew in Atlanta this past weekend for WrestleMania. We have no details yet but obviously they can't do anything to Hardy but there may be some repercussions for the Tough Enough cast. One source says if a main roster WWE star had done some of the things they did, they might have been released if they were low enough on the roster. Partial source: F4Wonline.com

Trish Stratus on John Morrison snubbing her at Wrestlemania: "I got a bit of cold shoulder action, correct. John Morrison himself is amazing. He’s a great athlete. I was really looking forward to working with him. I thought it would be cool if we could do some stuff together. He didn't think it would be that cool. It happens.
"Hey whatever. It happens. You know he's into his thing and just didn’t think that I should part of his thing I guess, but I still admire him as an athlete, as a performer. I think he does a great job out there. Cold shoulder? Yeah I felt it. I was shunned. Some people are not smart maybe? You know they wrestle well, but maybe they’re not smart. I don’t know.”

I know what I'd be giving Trish, and it wouldn't be a cold shoulder.
It would be a warm handshake and a smile.
Morrison = derp.

Earlier this week, it was reported that former WWE star Scott Hall had relapsed once again and was hospitalized for an overdose. Hall’s reps released a statement that his hospitalization was not due to a drug overdose, but instead extremely low blood pressure. Now, some shocking, disturbing video has come out that will leave everybody deeply concerned about Hall’s condition.
Scott Hall appeared at an independent wrestling show on Friday night from Fall River, Massachusetts and was so out of it that he couldn’t even walk to the ring or stand up by himself. His speech was very slurred and it appears he thought he was overseas in England, based on some of his comments to the live crowd.
A fan named Steve who was at the show and had this to say about Scott Hall’s appearance: “Scott Hall appeared in Fall River, MA for a Top Rope Promotions show on Saturday night, April 8. Hall needed two escorts to the ring, stumbled around a bit, Justin Credible came out and it seemed like they were headed to …some type of “work shoot promo”. Then a local wrestler named Gorgeous Gino Giovanni came out to the ring and they tried to set up Hall and Credible vs Giovanni. Hall was in such bad shape, the fans picked up on it and many heckled him. Some fans were respectful, apparently knowing Hall had “just got out of rehab at 6am”. Hall , apparently thinking he was in “England” and not “New England” tried to make a reference to “Wankers” – an English insult. Some fans , not familiar with Hall’s personal “demons” were very confused. Other fans understood the situation. Everyone, I’d like to think, were disappointed and sad, especially since was Top Rope Promotions 30th anniversary show in front of their “home base” audience.Hall rested on the ropes a few times. They started a match of Credible vs. Giovanni which was respectable… the real “show” was Hall and his poor condition. After the match, Hall, still slurring, asked Giovanni to come back to the ring using the term “tampon”.”
Former WWE wrestler Scotty 2 Hotty (Twitter user @thescotty2hotty), who was also at the show, tweeted this about the show: “Just witnessed the saddest, most embarrassing thing in my career!!!! How many guys have to die before some guys learn?”

SLAM! Wrestling has a new article online featuring quotes from "Superstar" Billy Graham and he has two major axes to grind. One, he's so upset Abdullah The Butcher was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, he wants his induction rescinded and his name to be completely removed. Two, he has a major issue with Chris Jericho for comments written by Jericho in his new book "Undisputed." Below are the highlights from the article:
"For the WWE to induct into their Hall of Fame, Abdullah The Butcher, who has never wrestled one match under a WWE contract, is bordering on blasphemy,"
"I am demanding that this company remove my name from their index of Hall of Fame wrestlers. It is a shameless organization to induct a bloodthirsty animal such as Abdullah The Butcher into their worthless and embarrassing Hall of Fame and I want the name of Superstar Billy Graham to be no part of it. The WWE and their Hall of Fame is disgustingly embarrassing, I want out."
"Jericho, that shows your complete lack of respect. You have the face of a choirboy, but you've got the heart of a devil," Graham told SLAM! Wrestling. "One day, someone will walk across your skull on the floor of hell. That's exactly where you belong.
Graham was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004 but sold his ring on eBay.

Billy Graham is an old, bitter toolbag. WWE should erase his existence... Not only in the HoF, but from their history.
