Sources suggest that Mortal Remains is actually William Black - from the future! Our man on the inside informed us that Mortal Remains was sent back from the future in order to warn himself (current Globalstar William Black) that the constant beatings from Globalverse personnel would result in Black's inevitable death. However, due to the fact that he in an inanimate corpse (ie, he's dead and can't communicate), Mortal Remains has thus far failed in his mission to warn Black of his bleak future.
William Black is currently in critical condition and on life support, but is fully expected to make his return at Aftermath2K11, Icon Commissioner Nathaniel Davis having booked Black in a handicap match on the card.
However, this story may be entirely fabricated, as Mortal Remains himself has been seen to take part in many of the beatings dished out to William Black over the past few years...
