There has been increased pressure upon Interim President James "Monarch" Corbin to narrow down a shortlist of names to be considered for Interim Vice-President of GroundZero Wrestling 2K1. A few names that have been made public from the long list is Ring of Honor Icon Sincere, GZW2K1 Commissioner Ring of Honor Icon Nathaniel Davis, and former GZW2K1 President Ring of Honor Icon Samuel Knight.
The office of Vice-President became vacant during New Year's Eve when Angel Profit-Williams was struck in an alleged hit-and-run accident by her husband and former GZW2K1 Globalstar, Ring of Honor Icon Nathan "T-Rex" Williams. Profit-Williams is still currently in a comatose state while Icon Williams still remains in custody awaiting trial.
It is expected that an Interim Vice-President will be announced at the Heatwave X pay-per-view.

Two time Lord of the Coliseum (2009/2010) Lord Kaos has resurfaced on the Globalverse scene after being missing in action for nearly a year. Speculation is at an all-time high due to Lord Kaos' banter on Twirker with current GZW2K1 Globalstar Lord Leon Corbin and Hong Kong Wrestling Federation Globalstar E.L. McCormick. The normally reclusive former World Heavyweight Champion has not been heard from since last year when he was unceremoniously defeated in the first round of the 2012 Lord of the Coliseum by Alex Cross.
It should be noted that Lord Kaos is not currently under any contract by any Ground Zero Global wrestling company.

It can be reported that the GZW2K1 Executive Committee is actively pursuing Ring of Honor Icon Sincere and Ring of Honor Icon Lord Sean "Magic" Fiery to engage in a one-on-one match to commemorate their career defining match thirteen years ago at the inaugural Heatwave pay-per-view. Neither Icons have expressed any public interest but is rumored that Icon Sincere has sought to become active once again in GZW2K1 for some time but management has fought against that happening. Both Globalstars are contracted under the "Icon Clause" allowing GZW2K1 use their likeness for advertisement, merchandising. and the such.
During the main event of Heatwave I, Icon Fiery defeated Icon Sincere for the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion. The win marked Icon Fiery's first of four World Heavyweight Championship runs in his illustrious career and is credited by wrestling pundits to have ushered in the "golden era" of GZW2K1.

As of press time there has been no official word released by GZW2K1 Command Suite concerning the alleged arrest of World Heavyweight Champion Jericho "Raze" Cross. It was reported that Raze was involved in a physically altercation with a flight attendant on a flight to Hong Kong, the site of Heatwave X pay-per-view.
