*Ring ring*
“Leon? Hello?”
“Yeah it’s me. I’ve got a bone to pick with you.”
“What? What’s happened now? The ‘Circle’ is doing fine.”
“I’m not talking about the club, I’m talking about Arctic Blast, specifically, the main event. That’s what I’m talking about. What the fuck is going on?!”
“What about it? Nothing is going on.”
“Don’t fucking play coy with me, Trys. Another match goes wrong when you are near. Yet again, I am walking out of an arena empty handed because you cannot do your fucking job out there!”
“In case you don’t remember, you didn’t walk out of that arena at all, Leon. I do my job, I go home. Why on earth do you keep blaming me when things are not going the way you want them? How am I even responsible for you not winning? It’s as if it’s my fault you both fell through the top or something.”
“Is it? Because that shit was very flimsy, sabotaged, in fact. Did you have something to do with that? Because I WILL be having that investigated. Someone will be held responsible for the lack of safety and sturdiness of that frame and you do NOT want it to be you.”
“You have got to be kidding me…”
“Do I sound as if I am joking? I mean, you officials are usually the early arrivals, before the Globalstars. That gives a man like you, someone physically adept, the opportunity to make modifications if you so choose. I may not have walked out of that arena as you so nicely pointed out but there was a chance I may not have walked at all. And for what?”
“Leon, I swear, I had nothing to do with any of the structure of the Chamber. That’s not my remit, I don’t interfere. My job is to referee matches and guide some of the other referees. I’m also looked highly upon because of my size and that what would devastate them, usually doesn’t have the same effect on me. I’m well respected by my peers, the fans, most of the roster…except you, for whatever reason. But the fact remains, I refereed to the best of my ability on the night, Leon.”
“Really? Then you may want to brush up on the rules, Trys because the whole world except you knows that there is never a count out in a Chamber match, ever! You had no right to end that match so soon. That match should have ended with a pin or a submission, nothing else.”
There is a pause from the referee’s end.
“Leon, I do know that. I do. But even I didn’t expect the cage to go through when it did and once I saw you both just lying there and I can no longer communicate with either of you, I felt it best practice to end it there and get you both medical attention. I have to consider the safety of the Globalstars first, especially in the environment we all face right now with Clan Mayhem. So let one match end without a winner and you both get to have a rematch or take a chance on you both and potentially cost you both your careers. That is what I faced on the night and even though I do not appreciate your goddamn tone with me, I am glad that you’re alright and so is Cross thanks to the snap decision I made at the time.”
“I would have been fine…”
“The fact you’re conscious enough to tell me that now is great. At the time, it really didn’t look that way. I’m sorry you still have no title but that’s not my problem. Now, unless there is anything else, I have a child to bond with…”
“Whatever. I don’t trust you. I don’t trust you at all…”
