The sound of someone punching a bag breaks the silence. The former Gzw2k1 World Heavyweight Champion, John Champa after his triple threat match, looks a bit frustrated as he, as someone would assume taking out his anger on the punching bag, goes through his post match ritual, which would seem odd to some.
This isn’t over Chica, no not by a long shot.
The cameras zoom in closer to see a photo of Piper Sanchez pinned to the bag, as Champa punches harder and harder with each repeated punch.
To some defeat does nothing but leaves a hole in their soul, a pain so deep that they can do nothing but wallow in their own pity. Disappointment, failure, fraud all words used by their family members, friends and fans alike to describe them. There is no grave deep enough to bury the pain, left by the stinging bite of defeat.
Defeat will lead men to do things, crazy things, things they would never do otherwise. Being labeled the loser of a match causes some to do any and everything to get back their “Heat” don’t believe me just ask Alex Cross. I first brought out the beast in Alex. I told Alex that he would result to desperate measures but he never believed me but in the end I proved my words to be gospel, and just tonight, at the end of the Championship match, once Cross was labeled the loser, he resulted to desperate measures to hide the pain, to not feel weak, to get his heat back, when he attacked Leon Corbin in a fit of rage.
Kolic, remember those matches that he and I had, remember the time he bashed my head in with a lead pipe all because he was bitten by the bite of defeat, all because I jabbed a small object in his leg to get back what’s rightfully mine, the Intercontinental Championship. Sean Locke, remember him, I drove him to do things he would never have done otherwise. He had to get on my level to defeat me because his play by the rules mentality was not working.
Me, defeat does nothing to me. I am, and have always been a competitor. Competition drives me, competition causes me to raise my game and there is no better competition than taking on the challenge of bringing out the monster in everyone, especially those who claim not to have it in them.
I will achieve the Triple Crown here in Ground Zero and the only person preventing me from achieving this is Piper Sanchez. Eva was pinned by Kolic thus making him the Television Champion for a cup of coffee before dropping it to You, Piper. You enjoy that Championship belt, UNTIL you and I step into the ring and you defend it against me. You’re a champion……..for now
But when you and I step into the ring, I will bring out the monster in you, and I’m not just talking about your monster like face, but I will change you Piper. I will get you, for once in your life, to dish out the tactics that the fans encourage from you. The fans encourage you not to break the rules, they beg you not to result to my level, they cheer you when you come out on top, and for 2 matches against me you came out on top, there won’t be a third.
I will change you Piper, you will become a feared machine because of me. You will resort to using my tactics, you will relish in the breaking of the rules and you will become the monster that I want you to be. But when all of that is said and done you will fall to John Champa, Mr. Greatness in the Flesh
And there will be no grave deep enough to bury the pain, the agony of defeat.
The scene fades out as John continues punching the bag.
