(The scene opens up at GZW2K1 Headquarters. The Setting: A Promo Room. There’s a GZW2K1 banner hanging down from the wall. There is various equipment set up: Cameras, lights, and boom mics. All the appropriate crew members are on set. They all know they have a long day in front of them. As they finish the last few sips of coffee and from the morning batch and the last few crumbs are snatched up Tamer walks in and seems surprised by the set. Tamer puts up a hand motioning his apologies and begins to leave. The Director runs over to stop him.)
Director: Where are you going?
Tamer: I must have the wrong room…
(The Director double checks his clipboard.)
Director: Actually you’re right where you’re supposed to. We’ve got you scheduled all day. Photo Shoot, Promos varying from Advertisements for Crimson to Don’t Try This At Home PSA's, and the “hard hitting” return interview.
(Tamer takes a deep breath and shakes his head)
Tamer: No…No… Nope. Nah-uh.
(The Director, grins, He’s dealt with feigned modesty before and he knows how to handle it. Paint the picture for the star, let him know you’re aware of the commodity that he is and you’ll give him the proper treatment.)
Director: Yes! The big return! The Hero! With GZW2K1 on the brink can Tamer return to finally turn the tide! Has he returned to join Kolic in his fight against Warpath and Clan Mayhem?! You’ve been mentioned on Twirker by Lord Leon Corbin, Trystan Lloyd, and SIR Chris Cairns! SIR Chris Cairns returns and is booked against Happy Sumo, he’s livid by the way. Tamer returns and we get a showdown between The Man on The Hero’s Journey and The Minister of Evil. This is Exciting Stuff!
(Tamer is not moved in the slightest. He runs a hand threw his hair and gives The Director a healthy dose of reality)
Tamer: It’s really not. Look I’m not sure if you’re familiar with my previous runs, I got the big exciting intro, I had connections to Vern and that raised a lot of hype, I had a lot of Indy fever around me. T-Shirts were made, promos ran, and the tone was set. I fizzled. Then I made a return and called out everyone. No was the time, the Tamer original promised would be delivered. And I drank myself into the ground. Up next was the redemption song, we all know how that turned out, Leon probably had the best summation, “Little ripples after splashing in a baby pool.” I’m not here to hype anything, join a war, or be a hero. I was in the building to meet with production because I don’t want the fancy pyrotechnics, laser lights, and grand spectacle. I’ve talked way too much talk in the past. It’s time for me to do some walking. And I’m gonna start by walking out this door. I’ll see you guys at Crimson…
(Tamer turns and walks out the door. The Director is astonished and looks back at the camera and motions for the feed to be cut.)
