"Hello?"
"Hey, Amanda. Can you talk?"
"Sure! What's going on?"
"Not sure if you heard the NOT That MJ Show the other day or not when I was on it?"
"No I haven't. I haven't had much chance to catch up on much of anything going on. Been too busy trying to get myself ready to come back."
"I thought as much. Well Mister Jackson asked me about me and you..."
Amanda is taken aback by the statement. She really should have been keeping up with the day to day of the company but she had allowed other things to take over.
"Oh really? Why?"
"Hell if I know. You hadn't said anythin' to anyone have you? I know I sure haven't."
"No of course not! I haven't spoken with anyone since I got hurt outside of Icon Williams and the only thing we talked about was business, nothing personal. I'm not really big on delving too much into my personal life if I can avoid it you know that."
"I know, I know. I didn't answer him and he didn't press the issue but it was weird he would even ask that question out of the blue. I guess you should be ready in case any one starts askin'."
"Who even knows? I mean, we've been careful when we go out in public."
"I have no idea. I haven't told a soul. Plus it's been a minute since we've even seen each other since I've been on tour."
"I know. You've been on tour and I've been stuck here in Atlanta. This doesn't add up. Maybe someone is just throwing stuff out and seeing what sticks. Is that possible?"
"Anythin' is possible, I guess."
"So where do we go from here Stephon? Do we continue to play it off like it's nothing and go on about or lives or do we broach the subject further?"
There is a pause which seems like forever.
"You tell me, Amanda. I mean, we both agreed that we wouldn't allow our relationship to hinder our careers or vice versa. We both want to get to the top by our own merits and not because of who we are with."
"And I totally agree Stephon. I mean, Icon Williams and his wife were married long before he ever joined GZW and look at how people treated them? But at the same time look at Icon Lord Leon and Icon Lady Eva, Lady Munin and Alex Cross, the list goes on of people in relationships that have successful careers and no one bats an eyelash. I don't want people to look at either of us like we're sleeping our way to the top."
She pauses for a few moments.
"The important thing is our happiness. Screw what everyone else thinks, what makes us happy is all that matters. And if you're happy with keeping things the way they are than so am I. Why fix what isn't broken?"
"That sounds like a plan to me. We're definitely not broken and I'm lovin' what we have. Though I would be happy to see you a bit more. You think you'll be able to fly out for AA?"
Amanda allows a smile to come across her face.
"I think I can manage that. Truth is I'm all finished here and got a clean bill of health just a few hours ago. I thought about surprising you but I guess that's out the window now. I land in Texas first thing in the morning."
"For real, Amanda?! Stop playin' with me?"
She laughs.
"Yup. My flight lands at seven in the morning. I got the earliest flight I could get. I miss you Stephon so I couldn't wait to get to where you were."
"And I miss you too, Amanda Panda. I'll have a car waitin' for you."
"Good because I'll need a lift. I don't feel like walking to the hotel."
"You won't have to worry about that. So I'll see you tomorrow mornin'. It can't get here fast enough."
"I know. Try and get some sleep okay? I already know I won't get too much, way to excited."
"I will. See you shortly."
"See you soon."
