CRIMSON - COUNTDOWN TO WAR
Globalstars rock Wembley Arena at first London date
The countdown to War: Reloaded kicked off in grand style as fans left Wembley Arena with plenty to talk about. The countdown to War: Reloaded kicked off in grand style as fans left Wembley Arena with plenty to talk about. Less than two weeks from the Special Broadcast Event, GZW2K1 brought a packed card headlined by a star studded tag team main event featuring World Heavyweight Champion "The Spark" Sean Locke and dual Intercontinental / Television champion Alex Cross going head to head alongside fierce rivals Mickey Tourette and Mongrel respectively.
And the World Champion sent a clear message to his War:Reloaded opponent Ring of Honor Icon Lord Jon Kellar with an almost freakish display of strength, crushing the 377lbs Mongrel with a Shockwave to bring his team the victory.
Icon Kellar himself, though not booked to appear at the Wembley event, still managed to make an impact. Appearing via a pirated broadcast from another arena, Icon Kellar wrestled an exhibition match against another Lord of the Coliseum winner... Lady Munin! Kellar's choice to pre-empt his own niece's match (and cost her a victory) is unlikely to have gone down well back home, but the classic old fashioned wrestling match between the two former World Champions is already getting plenty of attention across the Globalverse.
Shortly afterward, Kolic's bad run of luck continued. Though he made amends for his shock defeat to Dante Mephisto by pulling out a hard earned win over "Brazil King" Renan Carvello, he was powerless to protect himself from a HKWF ambush which left him beaten in the ring.
Speaking of Dante Mephisto, the teen heartthrob found himself stalked by a mysterious force; a force which left him beaten and bloody and suspended above the ring. Though fingers were originally pointed at his opponent, Stephon Davis, speculation is already rife, with rumours including a new as-yet-unseen Globalstar, Sean O'Riley's return to his sadistic habits, and even a possible return of "The First" Icon Paul Spartan!
Perhaps it is no co-incidence that these strange, sadistic actions co-incided with the return of "Diva Dangeous" Davina Cameron, who interrupted the planned Women's Division Tag Team match by disposing of Kate Gillespe's scheduled partner, before forcing the Women's Champion to agree to defend her title at War:Reloaded. Though after the brutal three on one assault which ensued, questions have to be raised as to whether our Women's Champion will be in any shape to compete!
And even with all that, there was still time for the debut of controversial new Globalstar Burke, who added to his collection of broken arms; Captain All-Star becoming his latest victim. All-Star is expected to be on the shelf for at least the next few weeks with the injury, but it was the aftermath that has the Globalverse talking. First, "Vitamin G" Gideon Reece intervened and challenged Burke to an impromptu match, which ended when Burke, apparently overcome with remorse, left the ring. This, despite the fact that only moments before he tried to break All-Star's other arm and even turned his attention to the EMTs in an apparent frenzy!
With War: Reloaded on the horizon, the fuse has been lit for what should be a truly special event!
