Reality Check: Tuesday Crimson!!!

Welcome one and all, to the column formaly known as “Smack Talk”. My name is Jason Olsen, and for those of you that read the “Smack Talk”, I bought it myself off of Alex deMonye. So I’d just like to set the record straight in that I will not be some bias columnist like Mr. DeMonye was. But I will be here to entertain and perhaps to make you think about the world we know as GZW.

So let’s get going... With my first ever Tuesday Crimson run down. And what a Crimson it was, wether it be the grueling Main Event, the Justin Sharp Vs. Magic matchup or the amazing 8 Man Tag Match. Crimson was once again a “Pride” dominated show. But I’ll get to them as I go along because right now I want to just do your basic match by match run down and give my thoughts on each outcome.

The Wuchie Siblings Vs. The WyLdSiDe Team

Well, interesting is the best way I can put it. Very interesting indeed. The match overall was nothing extrordinary, but what can you expect from a group of announcers. Only when the Fiery’s made their entrance did the action really heat up. Ending of course in “El Gambit” making an appearance and overall the match ended in a Double DQ. Can’t argue with that outcome.....

Jacob Helmsley Vs. Invincible

A nice match to watch and it really pleased me to Jacob pick up the win, although it was from a BIG assist to Mirage. But before that the match was pretty damn good, not the knock down slobber fest we have to come expect here in GZW. But once again both of these men can and I’m sure will do alot better down the road. As I said before Jacob picked up the win from outside help from Mirage, can’t argue to much except I’m sure Invincible will have his eyes set on the Anti-American.

Parking Lot Section

A very amusing part of the show to see Billy Bond dirve into the arena with that ruined wreck. I’m gonna give it to Pimp, the court jester has definately struck again. I just hope we could maybe see some ACTION between these two.

Pride Video Package

And so it begins, the Pride domination of yet another GZW show has begun. But I’ll give them this, the song is catchy, and the video package itself was not bad at all. So this part of Pride I could definately stand for.

Pride Backstage Beatdown

Like I said before, here we go! This time it’s the GZW’s “Underdog” Diamond Sledge that falls victim to “Prides” ways. When the young super star was entering the building he was hit with not only a Chris T. Thundercloud but also with a Justin Sharp Sharp Drop. Then Justin casually taunts at Diamond, “I beat you think we’re really bullies now, huh, Diamond?” Boy oh boy, yet another gruesome attack by Pride.

Arabian Sun” Mirage vs. “El Gambit” Santiago DeTouwce

This match pitted to Anti-American heels against eachother. And the match started out as many though it would, with El G dominating the young blood “Mirage”. And it really looked like Gambit had Mirage mastered until Adam cage came slauntering down to the ring. Cage pulls down the top rope and the fight spills to the outside where eventually Gambit is bleeding from the mouth and Cage gets his regular cheap shots in. But the fight is thrown back into the ring as Mirage tries to go for a little offence, which is soon crushed as “El Gambit” hits his new finisher the Barbary Drop on Mirage and then goes up top to hit the Gibraltarsault and seems to have the win, but Cage breaks the count. And bing, bang, boom out goes the Referee and you just know we’re gonna get alot of Pride interfearence. Maxx Pain walks down to the ring and absolutely PLANTS Mirage on top of El Gambit! And geuss what? Mirage picks up the win thanks to some major Pride assistance. At the same time showing the pure power of Maxx Pain. (Which I’ll be doing a column on soon enough.)

Unexpected Return

The Champion of People made his return to GZW last night in tremendous fashion, adressing the people that he loves. But beyond that T-Rex didn’t have much to say or do in the rest of the show. Sadly it looks to me like Rex’s problems aren’t over yet in GZW.

Symon Vs. “Anti-Bullying Pilcy” Diamond Sledge

This match was perhaps one of the most entertaining of the night, just because of the fact that everyones favourite super star, Diamond Sledge, was in it. And of course... Symon was there to. But the action was pretty fast paced with Symon taking advantage of Diamond “Pride-Lined” neck. But the young under dog wouldn’t give up as he went on to kick out of some of Symon’s devestating moves, but in the end a modified Tiger Driver ended the fight in Diamond as Symon picks up yet another win. But the match wasn’t over yet.... After Symon slides out of the ring in runs the LH Champ, Justin Sharp and locks on his Sharp Lock and seemingly breaks Diamond Sledge in half!

Mrs. M Show

The Mrs. M show was up nest and this weeks geusts were Kid Kaos and the newest Pride member, Chris T! The show was as always entertaining especially the part where Chris played a little mind game on Mrs. M about how he got the “Canadian Thunder” nickname. Funny stuff.

Pride Beatdown #2

Told ya there’d be more of these guys, only this time it’s not even an experienced veteran in Diamond Sledge... It’s a young 19 year old kid! Justin and Maxx start it off by capturing the young one backstage and then dragging him out to the ring where he is desimated by a Nova and a Thunder Cloud. But just as Maxx Pain is about to step up to the plate Chris Sharp returns after only being gone one week! Chris runs down to the ring holding in his hand a steel chain! The elder Sharp connects on Maxx Pain but Adam and Chris get the hell out of the way as quick as possible, leaving Chris Sharp and Justin Sharp standing in the ring. But as Justin is trying to convince his dad not to swing, Chris swings anyway and just barely misses his own sons head! But the good guys end there as Maxx Pain hits a big boot to the back of Chris Sharp’s head and down the Old School Warrior.

This provokes yet another carage of Pride attacks on Tony as Adam and Chris set him up and hit a BRUTAL double Super Kick, snapping the young mans neck back... And I’m sure causing great harm to his career. But it didnt end there as Justin himself planted his won father with his Hydra finisher off of the top turnbuckle onto a steel chair!

But as Pride was celebrating in the ring, Kandi Fortune herself made a surprise appearance and promised punishment on “Pride” for their actions as of late. Btu she also went on to seemingly down Chris Sharp in the process almost pointing him out as stupid to be worried about Pride. Now I’m a good friend with Chris Sharp and by just reading this review I think it’s becoming clear that Pride is ever nearingly becoming the threat they have alwasy said they were.

Cage Match: “The Downfall” Rebellion vs. “Real Deal” Jimmy Williams

What a great match this was, with Eric C2 Montair getting involved and shocking the GZW World by destroying the cage and causing the top to fall on both of the competitors! My well wishes go out to both of thos emens families as I’m sure they are not in the bes tof shape right now.

Eight Man Tag Match

This match was a very high paced match up pitting two members of Pride alongside the BrotherHood facing off against The Fiery’s and the RoccWylder’s. And I for one really, really enjoyed this match. Up until the inevitable breakdown of the BrotherHood/Pride faction. After that the match went to hell and eventually lead to Pride leaving the ring all together in one of the ultimate Heel actions. But they were soon followed by The RoccWylder’s and a brawl ensued backstage but it left The BrotherHood and The Fiery’s alone in the ring and the ref called for the No Contest ruling! BOOO!

Justin Sharp Vs. Magic

The LH Champ takes on the IC Champ in a non-title match up as Justin hopes to prove he is better than Magic, at the same time Magic tries to prove that Justin is good for nothing. Now out of all the matches on the card this one seemed to be one of the most action packed and I really enjoyed... You’ve got to give it to both Justin Sharp and Magic and they both put on one hell of a show with very uncharacteristic showing of sportsmanship from BOTH men. But in the end Justin looked like he had it won when he hit his Hydra finisher on Magic but Magic’s pupil Symon ran down and distracted the referee allowing Magic to hit the Final Destination. But fear not, Chris Trepanier and Adam cage would make the save and eventually lead to another No Contest Ruling! BOOO! But The RoccWylders were there for the save on Magic and Symons behalf and chased Pride from the ring.

Backstage

Magic walks backstage to find good ole’ T-Rex there and as Magic goes for his sledge hammer he finds Rex already has it! But before anything can happen Magic’s “Pupil” strikes again! This time with an electric cow prode which brings the Champion of People to the mat. But very charcteristic Magic at the end of this scene as he shakes his head at Rex and walks away without saying anything. Very good stuff!

Extreme Championship:
Eric “C2” Montair Vs. X-Lax

Very, ummm, how should I put it? Entertaining... In fact down right funnny! Poor X-Lax, seeing Eric pound his opponent into submission was something  I haven’t seen done here in GZW to date! All in all a snooze’N’cruise for Eric “C2” Montair. But the match did lead to an interesting developement between Jacob Helmsley and Eric, maybe even leading to a Extreme Title Match down the road?

Tag Team Championship:
“WMCB” Vs. “WMCB”

The rematch from Fallout: Zero Tolerance was not the same match it was then. In fact this match was a complete dud! The only intereting and entertaining part was the firing of Epic Mazur from “WMCB” Inc. But that’s all I found interesting in this one so let’s move on.

Main Event:
Pimp Bizkit+Maxx Pain Vs. Battle Cry+Billy Bond

Good Main Event here! The match was very entertaining and ended the way it should of, with Battle Cry gaining the pinfall voctory over Pimp Bizkit. Seeing the Devils Advocate was a nice touch and of course we got to see MORE Pride interfearence, this time assaulting the GZW Champ on the rampway until out popped The RoccWylders in a continuation of their Eight Man Tag Match earlier and stopped the three Pride members as the show came to a close.


All in all, a VERY good show. The only real weakspots I saw were the WMCB VS. WMCB match, but even it had it’s purpose. So I’m gonna grade this show a B+ just to be picky. I’m gonna enjoy working here in GZW and I hope that you will al continue to support my column work as I try to bring you my thoughts on each GZW Show. My Travesty reports will not be as big as my Crimson reports as I will mix some travesty notes into my weekend column. So for today I bid you farewell!
