A Taste Of Kandi
31 Oct 2001
Hello, GroundZeo Wrestling fans.
This is Kandi Fortune and welcome to "A Taste Of Kandi", a little piece of writing that reflects my views on the world of wrestling as we know it. The editors here at Hotwire Magazine feel for whatever reason that my opinion would help sell magazines. Who am I to argue for the betterment of wrestling.
Now I wanted to start off voicing my random thoughts on the different things going on. But this first time, I've decided to just pick one topic and stick to it. Today, I'm going to talk about women's wrestling.
We all know the current status of women's wrestling in North America. For quite a while now, simply put, it's been a complete joke. While most of the guys go out and use their natural talent to compete with one another and put on a nice wrestling display for the fans, the women strut around in tiny little skirts and some of the most lowcut tops I've ever seen, and put more focus into making the males in the crowd horny than actually winning the match. And when they're done showing off their bodies like cheap whores from the streets of New York City, they prove to be an even bigger dissapointment in the ring. Watch a normal women's match on TV sometime. Odds are that the gals will spend more time fixing their hair and making sure their breasts don't pop out than they will actually wrestling. And the other day, I tuned into a competitor's TV show and watched as one woman "spanked" another, and then they both got the stupidest look on their faces, and one of them in particular looked like she had just had some great sex. And to make things worse...the fans gave this little exchange one of the biggest pops of the night. How horrid.
I know that sex sells. I know that T&A will always be a part of women's wrestling. But things have gone too far. The actual women's title belts are meaningless. I've seen too many women who don't even know how to execute a vertical suplex holding a piece of gold. And I watch this utter crap on TV, shake my head...and wonder why. Why? Am I the only person in the world who would rather see two talented females get into the ring and wrestle their hearts out over watching two blonde bimbos fight in gravy? Why the hell would you want to see them in gravy anyway? It covers up the good stuff! Men...
But the one thing that REALLY pisses me off about this whole thing is that it sets a horrible example for all of the young women who want to get involved in the business. I hate the thought that some very talented girl somewhere in the world probably had her dream completely crushed because she "wasn't pretty enough" or because she had a chest the size of George Bush's brain. The "stars" of women's wrestling all send one clear message, "you have to be a slut to succeed." I hate this. The kind of woman that prances around, showing off her assets, and makes herself a sex object disgusts me. That kind of woman should not be involved with this business.
