Smack Talk
Welcome one and all to this, the 4th issue of "Smack Talk"! Today I'm gonna dedicate my time to a group who is making a big splash in the world of GZW, this Smack Talk is dedicated to the "New Guard Renegades" known as "Pride"!
So why have I picked this group of young stars to do my latest column on? Why wouldn't I? I mean the group consists of Adam Cage, the recently crowned "Most Sadistic Man In GZW". Maxx Pain, the recently crowned TV Champion and Justin Sharp, the recently crowned LH Champion.
But besides that there seems to be very little support for this group of "Rookies". The higher up such as Kandi Fortune herself have dubbed the group as a sort of business dilemma. While I myself feel the group could represent much more.
So I'll start my little rant with the newest of the "New Guard Renegades", Justin Sharp. Sharp was a problem from day one. Automatically putting himself over the rest of GZW. Pressing him as the star even though he had nothing but "Indy" titles to back him up.
But soon after his arrival an old foe in Maxx Pain arose from the dust to seemingly oppose Justin, when out of the blue, in a match with the NOW GZW Heavyweight Champion, Billy bonds. Maxx Pain assisted Justin is laying the GZW Champ out to dry with a vicious beating and thus forming "Pride".
Soon after another young blood and TV and LH Champion "El Gambit" arose to be the duo's tag partner in a big tag match and seemingly became the third member of the controversial group. But this soon came crashing down as in a match with Adam Cage; "Pride" attacked El Gambit and formed "Pride" as Adam Cage, Maxx Pain and Justin Sharp!
With the stable formed it was now time for the group to prove themselves. And they did it with style, from defeating marks like Nathaniel "Entertainment Franchise" Davis, to winning the LH Title and TV Title. "Pride" had seemingly earned their mark as a GZW threat. But it was not to be.....
Kandi Fortune would not budge from her non-caring attitude towards "Pride". And it seems that the group is back at stage one after losing a big tag match on Crimson and being driven from the ring after Maxx's successful title defense by a barrage of GZW Face's including Justin Sharp's very own father, Chris Sharp!
So what now? Where can this group go and how can it expand itself to win over the right to be a true threat. Well I have my thoughts on the process and they follow like this.
#1- New Members
Three is a great number for a stable, but not for a stable that wishes to take on the whole of GZW. So "Pride" needs to expand itself to reach out to other "New Guards" that are willing to join the force and fight for the right to headline GZW in the future. People like Kid Kaos, Chains, Jacob Helmsley, Chris Trepanier...all very fit athletes that could easily carry their share in "Pride" and would all benefit from the stables overwhelming protection.
So will we see the "Force" widen? It seems it is only a few short weeks away as revealed by Maxx Pain and Pride that 3 new members may very well be on their way. Who are these members? And what are their plans? We'll just have to watch and see what unfolds on GZW TV.
