Hello and welcome back to this the third edition of the controversial column, Smack Talk is now invading GZW Hot-Wire Magazine. And today I think its fitting I bid ado to the stars of the GZW, the GZW Champions!
Since this column is basically about the future of GZW and not it’s past I feel the Champions of today are the ones that will play big parts in the future. So let’s get the ball rolling.
Extreme Champion: Chains
Chains recently won his first GZW title at Fallout: Zero Tolerance. Now I’m all for having the young star hold the Extreme Title, but I feel that there are many other stars out there that will be gunning for this very title and that Chains will have his work cut out for him in the coming weeks.
Kid Kaos and Adam Cage both would fit perfectly into the Extreme Title Division, especially Adam whose already been the Extreme Champ. So I congratulate Chains, but I also wish him luck because with the barrage of people that now have him marked, he’s gonna need it!
Television Champion: Maxx Pain
Maxx Pain also won his TV Title at Fallout: Zero Tolerance. This is Maxx’ second run as the TV Champ with one big difference. This time he has two extremely talented super stars in his corner. “Pride” just may insure a very healthy reign as TV Champ for Maxx Pain. But there are those out there that will be looking to take out the “Dream Stealer”.
“El Gambit” has been snookered around by “Pride” for quite awhile. Losing not one but two titles to the renegade rookies. So I could definitely see Mr. Gambit try for the revenge angle. But I personally feel (Me being A “New Guard” Also.) That maybe what Gambit has to realize is that perhaps he will reach greater heights if he aligns himself with the powerful group of “Renegade Rookies”.
Other than El G, only Nathaniel “Entertainment Franchise” Davis represents a threat to the reign of Maxx Pain. But we will see just how big a part “Pride” plays in the coming weeks.
Light Heavy Weight Champion: Justin Sharp
Justin reached the GZW elite by becoming the newly crowned Light Heavy Weight Champion. He did this by once again defeating the “Lone Wolf” of El Gambit. And just like Maxx, Justin did it without outside interference. So who represents a threat to the reign of the newest of the “New Guard Renegades”?
“El Gambit” once again pops up as a potential opponent. But I feel that the increasing conflict between Justin Sharp and the Fortune Family may reach a new height. It has become apparent that Kombat is looking for his chance at a singles career and perhaps going after “Pride” is a great way to do it. But what Kombat doesn’t realize is that “Pride” is known for laying a group beating on their targets and as Kombat grows in strength, so does the chance of “Pride” targeting Kombat. It seems we’ll all have to wait and see but I’d be very interested in a Kombat/Sharp feud.
