Who's Hot
"Smooth Operator" Billy Bond. What can be said about this guy.Ever since his return at the end of the year 2001,this wrestler can't do any wrong. This guy is so "over" that he could lowcard against Happy Sumo and still look brilliant.Although he has taken several several beatings at the hands of Deacon Kane,2002 will indeed be the year of the Smooth One.
In a world of changes expect there to be one constant. His name is Deacon Kane.Ever since his arrival to GroundZero in the summer of 2001,whether it was as the masked Wicked Ways or plain old Deacon Kane, this 478 pound seven foot four inch monster has left a path of destruction in his wake to his crowning as Heavyweight Champion. He prides himself as "The Future of GZW" well no one in this magazine will argue with that logic.
At one time this next group was so not hot that it didn't even register on the Who's Not radar, but with an influx of new talent the GZW Tag Team division looks to be the next best thing to the Heavyweight Championship. With teams from Hong Kong Wrestling Federation--College Crew,Endangered Soecies, and the StormRiders--mixed with teams from United Japan Wrestling--the Supreme Team and the soon to be debutting Low brothers--the division is bustling with untapped potential.Of course one cannot leave out GZW's own teams of the Fierys and the Tag Team Champions,"Mr.Risky Business" Epic and "Bad Attitude" Eclipse.Rumours abound concerning many new tag teams forming from the roster to add even more heat to this white hot division.
Who's Not
Losing any title is a downfall, but losing the Extreme Championship moments after you have won it to "The Downfall" Rebellion must be a major letdown. Not only has Pitfighter lost the belt but he seems to have lost the desire to perform anymore in the squared circle. From champ to chump has never held more true in this instance.
"Fairplay Enforcer" Sho Murakame was once the beloved lightHeavyweight hero in the world of heavyweights.A former GZW Heavyweight Champion and crusader for justice the sparkle which once shined in his eyes seems to have left.Has the reluctant hero and original Bad Company outlaw lost his will to battle on in the trenches? With the premature retirement of Union Jack and severe sickness of Tate Troublesome, only the "Living Legend" Pimp Bizkit and Sho remain from the notorious clique. Will the former Firefly be the next to exit the wrestling world?
Prejudice in the world.Sometimes it's hard to forget that simple minded idiots have preconceived images in their head of how a group of people are.Just because of different skin complexion, sexual orientation,or geographical location. Are we so ignorant and blind that we do not realize that our differences is what binds us together? If the passion that we share for wrestling can bring us together regardless of those differences than why can't we break through this thick glass of prejudice and live our lives simply as what we are...human beings?
