*NWA champion Sting comes out to the ring. Christian Cage hits the ring at the same time. Cage says that he's sorry to steal the thunder and rain on Sting's parade but he's just returning the favor of what Sting did to him when Cage was NWA champion. Cage says that he doesn't belong in the tournament TNA is having to determine the top contender, saying there aren't 17 other wrestlers who deserve what he does - to be the #1 contender. Cage said that Sting was the biggest star and that Sting had the power to name his opponent for the Genesis PPV. He tells Sting to stop hiding behind the paint. Sting tells Cage that he can have a title match, but only when Sting tells him he's ready for a title match. Sting pulls out the baseball bat, hits him with it and clotheslines Cage over the top to the floor.
*Backstage, Jeremy Borash noted Kurt Angle would address the fans in the Impact Zone. Samoa Joe shows up and says that now his issues with Angle are personal.
*Live in the building, Dave Penzer announced Samoa Joe vs. Kurt Angle for the Genesis PPV in Orlando, Florida.
*NWA Tag Team champions LAX defeated The Naturals. Before the match, Shane Douglas said it was finally time for the Naturals to get their title shot. America's Most Wanted attacked LAX from behind. Hernandez did the Border Toss on Andy Douglas and Homicide captured the pinfall. After the match, Shane Douglas told the Naturals off. The Naturals both hit Douglas. They then made up and left the ring together.
*They held a first round "Fight for the Ring" Tournament match, which was a three stage bout. The first stage started with 18 men outside the ring. The first 7 to enter the ring qualified and competed in the second stage, an over the top rope Battle Royal. Eliminations determined the seeds for future tournament matches, while the winner received a bye into a future round. The 7 qualifiers were Ron Killings, Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Robert Roode, AJ Styles, Lance Hoyt, and Abyss. The final two were Abyss and Lance Hoyt, with Abyss pinning Hoyt with the Black Hole Slam, receiving the bye. During the match, The Naturals and Team 3D had a confrontation on one of the entrance ramps. There was also a confrontation outside with LAX and AMW. Rhino and Christian Cage had a brawl, when Rhino prevented Cage from getting into the ring to qualify.
*Kurt Angle came to the ring and talked about why he came to TNA. He said that everyone asked if he was fired, but he quit. He said that TNA is the best crowd in wrestling that he's ever seen and there's no other company with a roster like TNA. Angle said there was one man who made him want to come to TNA and that person was Samoa Joe. Joe hit the ring and they brawl. Security tries to separate them. The entire babyface locker room hit the room to separate them as well. Angle went to the back. Joe chased backstage.
Impact for 11/2:
*Christy Hemme interviewed X-Division champion Chris Sabin. He said that Jerry Lynn is too old for the X-Division. AJ Styles shows up and said he's not going to let Sabin talk about Lynn like that after all he's done for TNA. They start shoving each other and Sabin offers to put the belt on the line against AJ tonight since they were already scheduled to wrestle in the "Fight for the Right" tournament.
*"Fight for the Right" tournament bout: AJ Styles pinned Chris Sabin to capture the X-Division championship in what was said to be a really good match.
*Backstage, Borash interviewed Lance Hoyt and Ron Killings, as they would be facing each other in the tournament. Killings said that tonight wasn't about friendship, but business. Hoyt said that Killings has been a champion in the past but tonight was his turn to earn becoming NWA champion. As they leave, Eric Young shows up and asks Borash where Jeff Jarrett is, saying he's looking for Jeff.
*"Fight for the Right" tournament bout: Ron Killings pinned Lance Hoyt. After the match The James Gang comes out. BG James gets on the mic and apologizes for interrupting the show. He said that 10 years ago, James Gang were scouted by two scallywags that couldn't get over. He brought up 3 Live Kru and the three different personalities in the group. He said that it was a marketable concept that TNA dropped the ball with. James said that if they can't get work in TNA, they can find work on their own. James was wearing a TNA hat, but ripped it off and threw it in the crowd. He claimed that we've seen the last of the James Gang. Kip James takes the mic and wonders why BG was being so politically correct with his comments. He tries to say "Suck It" but they cut off his mic. Kip goes to the announce table and grabs a headset, so he can say his catchphrase, but that mic is cut off too. Kip then gets on the announcing table and yells it out without the assistance of amplification.
*"Fight for the Right" tournament bout: Robert Roode pinned Christopher Daniels after the interference of Ms. Brooks. After the match, AJ Styles comes out to check on Daniels. There appears to be tension between the two.
*They announce Christian Cage vs. Rhino in TNA's first-ever Barbed Wire Steel Cage match will headline the Impact primetime premiere on 11/16.
*Rhino and Christian Cage had a "Weapons or Escape" Challenge. There four poles up in the corners with keys to the cage, two chairs, a straight jacket, and bolt cutters hanging. The rules were that whatever item they retrieved off the poles, they could use in the cage match. The crowd was dead for much of the segment. Rhino jumped Cage as he was coming to the ring. Rhino got the key and the straightjacket. He tried to put Cage through a table but Cage dropkicked him and retrieved the bolt cutters. Matt Bentley came out, dressed in a new look. Rhino gave him a spinebuster. Cage got the chairs. Rhino gored Cage. Rhino put the straightjacket on Cage. Frankie Kazarian, also with a new look, attacked Rhino and took the chair. Rhino hit a running powerslam on Bentley through a table.
