Kurt Angle just finished up an appearance on “Bubba the Love Sponge” on Sirius Radio Howard 101. It was announced that Kurt would call into the show every Thursday for his own segment. Today’s segment was highlighted by Bubba’s comments about Angle’s wife, Karen. Bubba said that she was extremely hot; Angle added that a WWE agent once told him that none of the WWE Divas were as attractive as Karen. Bubba then played audio clips of Pat O’Brien making obscene sexual remarks. Bubba repeatedly referred to Angle as “bitch” during the interview, Angle later stated that only Bubba can get away with talking like that. Bubba told Kurt to stop screwing up the marriage, to which Angle replied he would not. Angle and Bubba came to an agreement that if he were to screw that marriage up again that Karen would leave Kurt for Bubba.
Angle spoke extensively about Daniel Puder. He explained that during the Tough Enough competition Angle was suffering from yet another broken neck. He stated that he weighed only 210 pounds at that time and was in serious need of a break from the road. Angle stated that Vince McMahon told him to go out and shoot fight with the contestants. Her said he was gentle with Puder and Puder took advantage of that. Angle said he could have suplexed Puder on his head and knocked him out but instead gently placed him to the mat, Puder then locked in an arm bar and began to pull as hard as he could. Angle said that Puder was stupid and wound up getting himself pinned with the maneuver. He added that Puder has since tried to make his career of off the incident. Angle went on to say that he wants Puder in a MMA match and that UFC President Dana White tried to make it happen. White told Angle that the fight with Puder would probably result in a quick Angle victory but it would make him more money than ever before. Angle later said that he could take out Puder with only four weeks of training, he added that to beat Chuck Liddell or Tito Ortiz he would need more extensive training. He came off as having a great deal of respect for MMA fighters with the exception of Puder.
Angle said that TNA President Dixie Carter is allowing him to take on other opportunities that weren’t available in WWE, including MMA. Angle alleged that WWE prevented him from landing the fifth-leading role in the major motion picture “ Pearl Harbor ”. He stated that he will appear on a Spike! TV program within the next few weeks, he also mentioned that he was already involved with the Scream Awards.
Kurt then spoke about the strenuous WWE schedule. He claimed that he had never taken a pain pill before entering the WWE. He said that after more than five years of McMahon’s schedule that he just could not go on without the pills. He said Eddie Guerrero died of exhaustion due to the schedule, although Angle made sure to state that he did not blame WWE for Guerrero’s death. Angle plugged Impact and said he was going to “kick ass tonight.” In another interesting note, Angle said Kevin Nash needed at least two more surgeries and probably won’t wrestle for another year and a half and that Scot Hall would have been one of the greatest wrestlers of all time if he had a work ethic.
