CM Punk in the doghouse by...Anderson and Finlay?

According to Dave Scherer and Buck Woodward, the main culprits in the recent depush for for CM Punk are Arn Anderson and Fit Finlay. Scherer and Woodward said that they were the agents, ahem, "producers" for the Elimination Chamber match as well as Punk's loss to Hardcore Holly. They both said that losing Heyman was a big deal as Heyman wanted Punk to make Show tap out to the Anaconda Vice but Finlay and Anderson both said that Punk and the Vice weren't over enough yet to justify having Punk be the one who would eliminate Show.

Additionally, while of course Heyman is a fighter when it comes to trying to get his ideas over, the new ECW writer Dave Laguna is more of a laid back guy who just wants to go with the flow so Anderson and Finlay have had a much easier time getting Punk booked to look weak. Scherer and Woodward said Punk's first loss was originally going to occur through a ref bump type screwjob but Finlay and Anderson once again got the match changed to the clean loss for Punk.

Punk is currently in the doghouse, probably as he disagreed with the layout of the Elimination Chamber match with Arn Anderson and Michael Heyes who were the producers for it. For this weeks ECW TV Dave Lagana had written that Punk should get Holly in the vice and Holly should turn over, grab a rope and pin Punk. In the production meeting when the TV was being put together the whole room turned on Punk when Lagana told them his idea. Arn Anderson especially was against him, saying the Holly should make Punk pay his dues as he's just "Heyman' guy" and not any good so Holly shouldn't need to cheat to pin him. Anderson also said Punk was only over because Heyman fluked it and shouldn't be happening. Punk was personally told by Anderson that "after 14 years on being on WWE televison, Holly is the bigger star" as an explanation why the heel should pin the babyface clean. The actual finish was came up by Finlay.

Ugh...to lose clean to Holly is the worst thing...poor Punk. Can't stand Holly.

I'm tryin' to see how a loss to Hardcore Holly hurts CM Punk in the least or even a few losses hurts him...Hardcore Holly is an established WWE star, like it or not, and has been a former champion (tag champion and hardcore champion)...he is a solid worker as well by many standards... what's the problem with givin' Hardcore and Punk a solid feud in ECW when they are both established stars...THERE IS NONE, YET...a couple of losses to an established star who is also gettin' pushed doesn't kill a push, it makes a fued interestin'...

having said that, it sounds like CM Punk has had his push slowed down a little bit though I don't know about halted all together...honestly I think he should be slowed down a bit...I mean the guy is 28 years old and relatively injury free...the last thing needed here is to push him so fast that he gets burned out or fans get tired of him...so what if Punk doesn't have the ECW title by Wrestlemania...he is a solid enough worker that as long as he doesn't get himself into trouble then he'll still be in the mix and probably either with the title by the end of 2007 or if he shines that well then likely transferred to one of the other brands...

ECW needs to build up a strong talent base and develop "stars"...in addition they need to find stars who work well in matches together and get them into feuds that work well over a long period...how many fueds in ECW have been started already only not to be followed through with... How many have been and made no sense...

ECW has a better developed "title picture" right now than RAW as a result of Punk vs. Hardcore Holly...

think about it this way...currently in the title pic for ECW are Lashley (the champ)...RVD...Test...Hardcore Holly...CM Punk... and maybe Sabu then you could argue a few more who are just waitin' in the wings to be there (Sandman and Dreamer)...how many "serious contenders" does Cena have for his title...from what I reda online and hear from Elijah...Cena and Edge has been played out....HBK...? Orton...? Triple H is out...besides you have the DX and Rated RKO feud goin' still...you could put Great Khali in there but I doubt the Evil Empire would put the title on him unless Hogan is getting it at Wrestlemania....that leaves Nitro (who is feudin' over the Intercontinental title with Jeff Hardy and has been buried by Cena previously) and Umaga...so...Cena has one serious contender...

as long as Punk behaves and the bookers don't decide to bury him because he cops an attitude then I think he will be fine...

Thats completly true Tate..I do believe that Punk, as good as he is, will not be hurt by a loss to Holly...I've always like Hardcore after all he does have the Best dropkick in the business lol.


As far as the title situations go, I believe Batista of the three champs has the better talent pool to choose from. They have Kennedy, Taker, Kane, Booker, Finlay. Everyone on Raw has been played out with Cena, which is why they need a new champ and quick. He does not have any serious contenders other than Umaga and probly HBK. Lashley is second because of Holly, Test, whom has gotten alot better during his stay in Ecw, and RVD.

I watched the match on ECW and it was a well done match. It didn't make Punk look weak in the slightest. In fact, it really looked more like a "being in the right place at the right time" for Holly. Hell Holly even put some extra pizazz into his finishing move to make it look more devastating and harder to get up from. Of course I enjoy both Punk and Holly so what can ya do lol.
