The Countdown Preshow kicked off with Jeremy Borash and TNA Knockout Leticia welcoming the TNA stars to the arena for tonight’s event! The first limo to arrive was Robert Roode with Ms. Brooks, with Eric Young serving as their driver!
Up next, Leticia and Jeremy were outside the arena for the arrival of World Heavyweight Champion Christian Cage. Leticia gave Cage a DHL letter, which was a message from Tomko to Cage telling him he was in Japan and would be back as soon as Cage gave him his title shot he promised him! As Cage exited, a hearse pulled up outside as a casket was unloaded for the “Last Rites” match!
Up next, Robert Roode Inc. made their way to the ring, with Roode using Eric Young as a human foot-stool to get into the ring! Roode demanded that Eric Young begin to follow his instructions better, as Roode owns him according to the stipulations of his contract with Robert Roode, Inc. Young grabbed the microphone and said that “his friend” told him he doesn’t have to listen to Roode, at which point Roode told Eric that is he quits, he breaks their contract and he would never wrestle again for TNA! Roode ended up slapping Eric and Young threatened to fire back, but he drew down and left the ring with his head down.
Outside, the next limo pulled up with Scott Steiner exiting with two beautiful models. Steiner was already celebrating with champagne, claiming he would demolish Kurt Angle tonight. As Steiner exited, another limo pulled up as Japanese legend The Great Muta exited!
A few minutes later, Team 3D arrived with wrestling legend Johnny Rodz!
Up next to arrive were Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe – who came out of the same limo! Angle and Joe seem united tonight as they prepare for individual combat.

It was anything-goes, no disqualification as the two teams immediately began brutalizing each other with weapons. Both teams eventually went into the crowd, with the brawl going all over the arena. The fight went back to the ring, with both teams exchanging near falls. Brother Ray gave Devon the order to get the tables, at which point several members of the Latino nation hit the ring to assault 3D, which was all legal! Johnny Rodz then hit the ring to help, but he was overpowered by the numbers. However, several Team 3D supporters came in to even the odds. With the ring cleared, the LAX and Team 3D continued their battle, with Brother Ray launching himself out of the ring and taking everyone out! With Devon and Homicide fighting in the ring, Alex Shelley came out and nailed Devon with his camera. Shelley came off the top with a frog splash on top of Devon as Homicide scored the pin for he LAX win.
Up next is the double bullrope match with James Storm and Jackie Moore vs. Petey Williams and Gail Kim. Storm and Moore attacked Petey and Gail before the bell, but they quickly turned it around. Gail tied Jackie to the corner and chopped her repeatedly while Williams assaulted Storm on the outside. Back in the ring, Williams used the bullrope to lash Storm while Gail and Moore kept slugging each other on the outside. Williams went for the Canadian Destroyer on Storm, but Moore nailed Williams in the crotch, allowing Storm to hit the superkick on his nemesis for the win!
Up next is Austin Starr vs. Senshi where one man must make the other submit to the Cross Face Chicken Wing to win! The two X Division stars traded high-flying moves and chops to begin the encounter. During the bout, Mr. Backlund made his way out to support Senshi, who unleashed his martial arts skills against Austin Starr. Senshi was the first to lock in the submission, but Starr escaped. Senshi went for his top rope “Warrior’s Way” leap, but Starr knocked the referee into the topes, sending Senshi crashing to the outside. Back inside, Starr began to argue with Mr. Backlund, which allowed Senshi to lock in the chicken wing, forcing Starr to tap out for the win! After the bout, Backlund got in the ring to congratulate Senshi, but Starr locked the chicken wing on the former World Champion! Referees then hit the ring to pull Starr off Mr. Backlund!
Up next is the Voodoo Kin Mafia vs. Christy Hemme’s team, which turned out to be The Heartbreakers! BG and Kip dominated The Heartbreakers early on, with Christy even attempting a low blow on Kip – but Kip was wearing a cup! Lance Hoyt then came out and hoisted Hemme on his shoulders and took her from the ringside area to make it a fair fight between both teams. The Heartbreakers gained the momentum, with both of them double-teaming Kip as he was unable to make the tag to BG James. The VKM eventually made the comeback, with BG James hitting the pump handle slam for the win! Hemme came back to the ring after the bout with a riding crop and began screaming at The Heartbreakers for the loss.
It’s time for the X Championship match with Chris Sabin defending against Jerry Lynn – two out of three falls. The action was fast and furious in the beginning, with Lynn scoring the first fall on Sabin after a tornado DDT! Lynn pumped up the crowd by mocking Sabin, with the crowd chanting “Jerry! Jerry!”. At one point, Lynn catapulted from the ropes and dove on Sabin in the crowd! Back in the ring, Sabin tied it up when he hit a powerbomb on Lynn and used the ropes to get the pin. A few minutes later, Sabin hit the Cradle Shock on Lynn, but the X Division pioneer was able to kick out. Sabin then tried for a Cradle Piledriver, but Lynn escaped. Then, a masked man emerged from the back wearing a Sting mask. He distracted Lynn, allowing Sabin to get the deciding pinfall to retain the X Championship! After the bout, the masked man attacked both Sabin and Lynn and revealed himself to be “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels, who had a much more darker appearance than before!

AJ was the first to climb the steel structure, challenging Rhino to follow him! Rhino slowly made his way up, unable to get his balance due to Styles shaking the top of the structure. AJ and Rhino traded punches in the middle high up, with Rhino nearly falling off! With Rhino hanging on for life, Styles punished him with kicks. Rhino regained his footing and nearly knocked AJ from the top, but Styles kicked Rhino and hid inside the steel girders! With Styles hidden, Rhino didn’t know where to go! With the fan’s help, Rhino eventually located his nemesis and began to choke him. AJ escaped and regained the advantage, smashing Rhino’s head into the platform and trying to toss him off. AJ then went for the Styles Clash, but Rhino reversed it and floored AJ with punches. AJ then pulled powder from his trunks to blind The War Machine, but Rhino slapped his hands and blinded Styles! Rhino hit the GORE on AJ, sending him off the side! AJ was hanging on with everything he had, but Rhino stomped his fingers until AJ lost his grip and took the fall down below! The War Machine is the winner of the first-ever Elevation X match, as medical personnel attended to an injured Styles below.

Angle then latched on the Ankle Lock submission, but Steiner launched his nemesis into the corner and then put the Steiner Recliner on. Angle fought out, then both stars traded Olympic Slams with Angle gaining the advantage by slapping on the Ankle Lock again. Steiner escaped and tried to hit a top-rope belly-to-belly on Angle, but Angle hit a sunset flip from the top to get the pin on Steiner!
Up next is the “Last Rites” match between Sting and Abyss! The action got underway as soon as Sting came out as Abyss attacked him at ringside. Back in the ring, Sting hit two splashes on the icon, but Abyss smashed his nemesis with one of several glass candleholders surrounding the ring, opening up Sting and bloodying him. With blood pouring down Sting’s face, Abyss called for the deathbed to be lowered from above. Abyss took a bloodied Sting and stuffed him in the casket, but he wouldn’t let Abyss close the lid. Abyss then brought one of the heavy tombstones into the ring and placed it in the corner. Abyss went to slam Sting into it, but the icon reversed it and put Abyss in the Scorpion Deathlock. Sting then put the tombstone on Abyss’ face and cracked him with the baseball bat. Sting then shoved Abyss in the casket, but Abyss fought out and chokeslammed Sting into the casket – caving in the metal deathbed! Abyss set up two chairs and put a tombstone on it, then perched Sting on the ropes, but Sting pushed Abyss off and set him falling through the stone! A bloodied Sting then shoved Abyss in the casket and shut it, winning the bout! The deathbed containing Abyss was then raised to the top of the arena.
