This happened today, the 6th: WWE Wrestling Superstar Assaulted At Smithfield Bar A WWE wresting superstar was assaulted at a Johnston County club early Tuesday morning. Gregory Shane Helms, 33, of Smithfield, a wrestler with World Wrestling Entertainment, who goes by the name of Gregory Helms and the Hurricane, was reportedly assaulted by an acquaintance while at the N&N Sports Bar on South Equity Drive in Smithfield around 1:10am. Smithfield Police were summoned to the business after an altercation between Helms and Dustin Curtis Narron, 29, of Selma, according to Police Detective Lt. Keith Powell. Narron is accused of slapping Helms following an altercation. Helms obtained a warrant for assault on Narron, which police served about an hour later. Narron was released on $500 bail pending his court appearance on the charges. I wonder what the argument was about that resulted in a slap :S No doubt there'll be all sorts of rumours pertaining to what it was on noDQ.com and those other places...

Why is it always someone like Shane Helms who comes across as utterly likeable.
Why can't it be someone like Hardcore Holly or Bradshaw that gets the shit kicked out of him?

Holly got his when Lesnar Ganso bombed him and broke his neck. I think that might have showed him that there's always someone out there who can fuck you up. You're right about Helms though.

but still, breaking someone's neck, though not purposely....I hope, even if the guy was a bully thats no excuse. You can say that Holly is always in his gimmick, because thats kinda was his persona is on TV....a Bully...or supposed to be.

Holly got what he deserved. He sandbagged the powerbomb and Lesnar dropped him on his head as a direct result of that.
If people are going to piss around in the ring they deserve to get injured, doubly so if they do it deliberately rather than negligently.

Absolutely true. Sandbagging doesn't just make the person using the move look bad, but you look bad too and Holly should know that by now. If you're not comfortable taking a move, you tell them backstage. If you wait until you're in the ring, it's too late and you have to fucking take it. Holly was at fault here.

but to say he got what he deserves is just wrong.....But look, we don't know how these guys act in the backstage area, we are only going off hearsay.....we aren't there so we have no idea what these guys personalities are. Some people just dislike you for some reason, that could be the case with Holly and Bradshaw.
We first off have to remember that we are Fans first....we are not writers or columist who just make up stuff....we are fans and we have to remember that first and foremost. And like I said, even if the guy is a jackass backstage, His neck was broken in the ring...his neck was BROKEN...and to say that he got what he deserved....thats whats called being a jackass....

Fair enough, but as a trainee (or former trainee) I know full well that you never, ever sandbag a move. It's a selfish and stupid thing to do. If he posted for the powerbomb, he'd have been fine, most likely. So maybe he didn't deserve a broken neck, I dunno, but he would have deserved a punch in the mouth for it. He knows how to sell and should have done so. I just find it hard to sympathise with someone who gets hurt as a direct result of his or her own actions and a man who's been wrestling as long as Holly has, really should know better.

I never feel sorry for Holly...I wrote more but I can't be arsed...I just do not feel sorry for the guy, he's an arsehole and we've seen it in that ring...as fans...

seeing it in the ring is him playing his gimmick....thats the gimmick of Bob "Sparky Plugg" Holly.
I've not told you all this, but I've been Wrestling for the past few months in a company called SWA down here a few miles outside of Nashville (my home town) I know the dangers in the ring as a result of something being my own fault. Now if he had gotten a punch in the mouth for it, then I'd say hell yeah he got what he deserved, but the man broke his neck, it could have killed him, Being a jackass or not

Decent..........hell I'm sure we can come up with a better name for WWE's Biggest Secret than Decent lol...
But Helms is a warrior, he's doing fine I'm sure.
