"The God of Pain" Bane has announced he will retire from wrestling at Heatwave V on June 30th 2008. Bane is hoping for one last 'self-indulgent dream match' before finally hanging up his boots due to constant spinal injuries, which have plagued him since May 2002. It is unknown whether or not Bane will be granted a spot on the big pay-per-view, but speculation is running rampant as to whom his opponent would be. Close backstage friends such as Kid Kaos and Lord Leon Corbin (recent television feud presumably erased from memory), are possible considerations, but both look to be far too busy with current storylines. Other possibilities range from unsigned/inactive friends Chris Cairns, Quake, Nathaniel Davis and even bitter enemy Lord John Taylor.
Bane has been known as GZW2K1's most under-rated star of all time, as well as one of the greatest to have never held the GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship. He joined GZW2K1 in April 2002 and his most notable moments include his short, controversial shoot 'feud' with Lord John Taylor, his equally short reign as HKWF World Champion, feuds with Kid Kaos, Quake, The Insomniac, and of course, his 'Damn Good Sleep' gimmick.
Bane made his wrestling debut in 1996 for Creation Wrestling.
