Financial backing and the like aside, if you had to pick a current federation that could potentially break out from the pack who would it be? This is theoratically speaking, and of course only taking into account what the product is that they put out, which one has the right tools to make it? I am speaking simply in terms of the wrestling product they produce.
Take for example, Ring of Honor. In my opinion, RoH can only get so far in popularity as the "average" fan will not care about their in-ring action. The average fan needs something more in the line of entertainment to supplement the wrestling side of things and until RoH does that I can't see them moving anywhere past PPV specials every six weeks or so. I don't see them as a credible third option, but then again I don't know what is.

The N.W.A....if they consolidated a little more...had the proper financial backin'...could get a few more names and a TV slot they'd have a chance to be a viable third option...thats a stretch though obviously....
Then again I'm hesitant to call TNA a "second option"...despite its advantages its nowhere near close to the Evil Empire's level and if Emperor Vince really wanted to I'm sure he could squash it like a bug...if SmackDown got put back on Thursdays it'd be interesting....
Thinkin' a little more about it, AAA or CMLL would actually be my choice...there's a market for lucha libre and it draws better than a lot of other styles at the moment...dub it in English...get a few more American faces...and it would sell....
