Vernon Vanderbilt and GZW2K1 are still squabbling over his contract. As reported exclusively by GZGwrestling.net months ago, Vanderbilt feels he is underpaid compared to other top performers in the company, and he is seeking significantly more money than GZW2K1 officials are willing to pay.
There may be some rough feelings stemming from Vanderbilt working through a torn biceps injury earlier last year and being promised that he was going to be part of the Aftermath2K7 pay-per-view. The storyline took a twist when Vanderbilt went on hiatus to further P.L.O.W.
My thoughts: It may seem like a long shot, but Vanderbilt has told friends that he's open to the idea of returning to San Francisco and starting a promotion if he doesn't get what he wants from GZW2K1. Cooler heads could prevail and he still has plenty of time left on his contract, but he's clearly frustrated at this point, as he feels insulted by not making as much as some of the top performers in the company. As previously noted, GZW2K1 officials view Vanderbilt as injury prone. They recognize his value to the company, particularly from a merchandising standpoint, but they want him to prove he can stay healthy.
