History:
Paul Spartan was born in 1975 as an illegitimate son to a prostitute/waitress in the small town of Eagles Draw in southern New Mexico. After seeing his mother beaten by numerous "boyfriends" Spartan finally took matters into his own hands by beating one of his mother's "boyfriends" almost to death after the man attacked he and his mother.
While spending his 15th and 16th birthdays in a juvenile detention center, Paul's mother died as a result of a losing battle with heroine addiction. Never knowing his father, Paul was placed in the custody of his grandparents who attempted to help him leave his past behind. A short time after his grandmother died, Paul's grandfather was mugged in Roswell, New Mexico. After being beaten by suspected gang members, his grandfather died of a heart attack as a result of the attack. At age 18, Paul revisited his past and rediscovered the hate and fury that had built up over almost two decades of his life. He found himself living in the gutter and doing what it took to survive.
After being caught stealing food from a local market during a burglary, Paul was given a choice by a judge who knew and respected Paul's grandfather. He allowed him to enter the military in lieu of spending three years in jail. Paul took the opportunity and joined the U.S. Army. During Operation Desert Storm, Sgt. Spartan received several awards and commendations. Following the war, he found that it was hard to readjust to the post-war life in the military. Numerous run-ins with superiors lead to a discharge from the Army.
With no ties in the world, he found himself broke and homeless in Ciudad de Juarez, just across the border in Mexico. In Juarez, he found himself constantly under attack by gangs and other criminals as he lived on the streets. It was during this time, he found his calling. While seeking shelter from an uncharacteristicly powerful rainstorm, he ventured into what he thought was an abandoned warehouse. Inside, he found a ring similiar to one that he had seen dog fights in. Only in this ring, it was men fighting. After watching the styles and techniques of the fighters, he returned the following week and entered into the competition. In a short time, he became one of the most proficient fighters in this blood sport. He eventually went on to dominate the back alley fights and underground brawls until finally, he was asked to no longer attend due to the fact that the gamblers would no longer place bets against him and the bookies were losing money on his fights.
Paul attempted to find similiar work in the states to no avail. He did find work as a bodyguard for the owner's daughter in a Georgia based federation known as SWF, Southern Wrestling Federation. This woman's name was Kandi Fortune. Kandi eventually got Paul his big break in SWF as well as UJW,United Japan Wrestling.After a falling out with Fortune, Spartan aligned with "King James" Corbin and Deacon "Wicked Ways" Kane to create "The UNStable". The trio went on to hold epic battles in the southern terrorities and overseas.
After the Fortunes' sold their interest in SWF (though years later the family would reinvest and open Southern Wrestling Alliance in Texas with close ties to GZE) to the conglomerate GroundZero Enterprises, Spartan found himself without employment.It wouldn't take long for the young man to find work as Logan Hernandez the President of the upstart Texas based Extreme World Order quickly hired him. Paul,now know as Kage,was forced to play the gaudy playboy gimmick and was awarded the EWO Heavyweight Championship, making him the first to hold the federations title.
