According to many heavy sources within Ground Zero Global’s management, there will be an impromptu Board of Directors meeting in Atlanta on the morning of October 30th, the same day as GZW2K1’s King’s Ransom and annual Lord of the Coliseum tournament. There hasn’t been any word on the subject matter of the meeting, but apparently Ring of Honor Icon Sean “Magic” Fiery is scheduled to attend a portion of it to speak in front of the Board. Rumors claim that Icon Fiery’s well documented struggles with injuries and minor issues he’s had with the administration’s decisions as of late are putting his future involvements with the business at question. Many believe that he’s close to a second retirement following all of the injuries he’s sustained since his return and can‘t possibly take the risk of further bodily damage. No official word has been released from the former three time GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion, but sources close to him admit that he’s taken a large toll over the past year and is probably getting worn out. There’s even speculation that he’ll be hanging up the boots and announcing his final goodbyes at King’s Ransom, marking the one year anniversary since he returned and his most successful to date.
Other rumors state that he could very well be interested in management positions within the company, possibly even a Presidential role. With John Profit apparently on his way out and the recent fumbles of GZW2K1 President Seth Richards, the Board of Directors could be looking for replacements and using this opportunity to interview Icon Fiery on the matter and see if he’s interested. This situation could keep him in the company without risking his physical condition as an active wrestler and also fill the shoes of an administrative staff member. Again, there has been no official word on the matter and many rumors continue to spill through GZG media after the announcement of the meeting, leaving Icon Fiery’s involvement as a huge question mark until further announcements are made.
