In news today, Kandi Fortune-Corbin’s first defense of the UJW SuperHeavyweight Championship was made for United Japan’s 1/4 Tokyo Dome event and her opponent will be Hiroyoshi Nakanishi! The two have a storied past as the Ferocious Lion was the Phoenix’s ring attendant and bag boy back in Fortune-Corbin’s last UJ days and almost jumped to GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 in 2002 alongside Fortune-Corbin. Their singles match record has Fortune-Corbin somewhat leading Nakanishi with a decisive victory in 2005 and their 30 minute draw that same year in the Champion Carnival.
