William Grand
Height:
6'2"
Weight:
211 lbs
Age:
28
Alignment:
Face
Hometown:
Rancho Santa Fe, California
Theme:
"Path" by Apocalyptica
Entrance:
The gentle intro of "Path" by Apocalyptica slowly rings its way through the arena as the fans roar in cheers, knowing exactly who's about to enter. As the music progresses, the arena fills with golden lights. The screens all turn a gold, glimmering color as well until about 30 seconds into the song, it kicks in. The screens all zoom back to reveal the name "GRAND" printed in huge gold letters. At this point, William Grand steps from behind the curtains to a large ovation. He's dressed in his usual golden tights and surrounding the rest of his body is a large golden cape of sorts, glistening with the gold lights shining down on him, with "Grand" printed on the back, just barely hanging off the ground. In his hand is his trusty cane, as well. He makes his way down to the ring with a stride only a rich pompous man as himself can accomplish. Once he reaches the ring, he walks up the stairs and takes a few steps onto the ring apron where he brushes his feet off (William Regal-esque). He then demands that the referee hold the ropes for him, which the referee does without question. Once getting inside the ring, he stands in the very middle where he unbuttons the top of his cape, then tosses it at the ref. As the ref goes to put it away, Grand takes a glimpse around the arena at his adoring public. Then, in a sign of respect, he takes an elegant gentleman's bow in the center of the ring. His music begins to fade out and the lights return to normal as he prepares himself for the upcoming battle.
Wrestling Style:
William Grand is known for his match leading ability. He can easily make any match look good, and can perform well on either end of an attack. His respect for the sport has definitely grown with age and he tends to cut down on the cheating of his past, but when someone is feeling the need to use a weapon or push the rules, Grand will gladly use his trusty cane to teach a lesson. His old school style tends to show frequently, but he keeps the speed of the match going and pulls out some impressive moves in the process. He loves to use his knowledge of amateur wresting to surprise his opponents and put on a wrestling clinic.
Attire:
Out of Ring - He's very clean and proper with his style. While toning down on the arrogant, royal clothing he used to wear, he tends to wear suits and very classy outfits often. A metrosexual may be a way to describe him, but he doesn't consider himself that. He may break the boundaries and wear something different, but nothing that will make him look trashy.
In Ring - Long classic golden tights, usually with his name printed along the side, "Grand", or "Wrestling's Class Act". Black and gold boots, elbowpads to match, and sometimes grappling tape on his fingers/hands/wrists. Other times he'll wear some of his vintage attire, consisting of his dress pants and undershirt with a vest covering it after taking off his coat.
Finishers:
*Main Finisher*
Grand Finale
(Pedigree To Hangman DDT)
*Secondary Finisher*
Courtesy Call
([Sometimes does a gentleman's bow if he has enough time before nailing a...] Sweet Chin Music superkick)
Set up:
Bulldog onto his knee
Trademarks:
1. Class Act
(This is a trademark combo: He starts off by shaking his opponent's hand, acting as friendly and respectable as possibly, but then pulling them in for an inverted atomic drop. He then takes them down with a snapmare to where the opponent is sitting on the mat, and he immediately lays in an arrogant kick to the opponent's spine. He finishes the combo by forcing them up and connecting with a running powerbomb into one of the turnbuckles. IF the opponent remains standing in the turnbuckle, he'll connect with a few chops to the chest, and then toss them through the ropes and out to ringside. He'll usually dust his hands off afterwards.)
2. Grand Slam
(Run up the turnbuckle powerslam from top rope [think along the lines of Kurt Angle's Belly-To-Belly from the top rope])
3. Arm Toss DDT
(Arm toss to diving reverse DDT [Christian style])
4. Knee Drop Across the Throat
5. Belly-To-Belly Suplexes/Slams
(All variations)
6. Scoopslam w/Blind Elbow Drop
7. Cradle Piledriver
8. Traditional Submissions
(Leglace/lock, hammerlock, sleeperhold, full nelson, armbar, single crab, front guillotine lock, etc...)
9. Back To Obscurity
(Pieface STO )
10. Genuine Precision
(Rocker Dropper)
Other Moves Preformed:
Top rope elbow drop
Dropkick variations
Backdrop variations
Back body drop
Armdrag
Avalanche corner splash
European uppercut
Chops
Fireman carry slam
Rake to the eyes
Figure four leg lock
CCW Championships:
UWA Intercontinental Championship
UWA Universal Heavyweight Champion (Last and "current")
UJW Junior Heavyweight Champion (x2)
Ending Note:
He usually carries around a cane with a metal diamond-shaped cap. He uses it as a signature weapon during matches, but not often... Just when his opponent deserves it. There is a little trick to his cane, though. He can twist off the metal end and it become a taser, which is controlled by a small button along the side. He doesn't use it often, but when he does, people tend to back off.
