There have been unconfirmed rumors that a meeting took place between GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 President Seth Richards, Hong Kong Wrestling Federation Chief Operating Officer Fox Giovianni, and Ground Zero Global Chairman Cedric Southern last night at an undisclosed meeting site. It is believed that a litany of things were discussed ranging from the compiling a short term list for of the next GZG Triple Crown Heavyweight Champion to the closure of the GZW2K1 World Tag Team Championship division. There is a strong belief that HKWF is lobbying for GZW2K1 to close their tag team division claiming it has substandard competition to be viewed as a worldwide status amongst GZG. As it happens GZW2K1 is currently in the semifinal round of a Number One Contendership tournament for the GZW2K1 World Tag Team Championship currently held by the GZG Unified Tag Team Champions HKWF's BlaccJack, Serious Blacc and "The Debt Collector" Jack.
There is talks that HKWF will be holding its first ever Ring of Hardkore induction ceremony this month during GZW2K1's pay-per-view, Heatwave Six. The list of the first class of Hardkore Icons could possibly be this:
"El Gambit" Santiago DeTouwce
Zander Frost
"Lone Gunman" John Taylor
The Ring of Hardkore should not be confused with the already instituted HKWF Hall of Fame which includes several notable legends such as Sebastian Covenant, "The Jaguar" Jackie Lee, Union Jack, and Michael Irons to name a few.
With the recent appearance of former GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion Zachary Sharp upon GZG Network there is talk that the former ace will be making a "surprise" return at the Heatwave VI pay-per-view. Unnamed sources believe that Sharp will play a role in the GZW2K1 Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship Last Man Standing match between John Champa and current Intercontinental champion Tommy Casper. The actual role hasn't been clarified yet but ultimately it will lead to a final match down the road for Sharp against his rival Ring of Honor Icon James "Monarch" Corbin. The promise of a grudge match against Icon Corbin is believed to be the final push to get Sharp to return to active competition witin a GZW2K1 ring.
GZW2K1 debutante, Hayden Hoshiko, is reportedly in talks with adult men's magazine, Penthouse, to appear in it's August issue which is spotlighting women in the wrestling business. The younger sister of Eva Corbin is rumored to be receiving a six figure payout.
Supposedly there was a heated confrontation between BDR and GZG consultant/Ring of Honor Icon Tate "Troublesome" Edmonson at a local Hong Kong charity benefit. Several Ground Zero Global Globalstars and employees were in attendance to compete in games of chess. Dowling-Reid and Icon Edmonson were scheduled to face each other but before their match came about the two had to be pulled apart by security on hand. It is unsure what the confrontation was about but it is probably safe to say that it stems from Dowling-Reid's recent verbal attacks upon the former GZW2K1 President.
