With GroundZero Wrestling 2K1's annual summer pay-per-view, Heatwave Six, under two weeks away there have been talks of independent rock band, Formally Degenerate, performing their new single, "Prehistoric Monoxide", to open the show. It is believed that Hayden Hoshiko's ex-husband and lead singer of Formally Degenerate, Jay Phillips, has used that connection to get his band inked to a multi-dollar recording deal with the upstart GZW2K1 Music Entertainment.
Many insiders are curious about the sudden push of the All-Stars especially All-Star Dude. The nephew of Captain All-Star has been in a bitter blood feud with GZW2K1 rookie Brian Reaper. There have been reports out of the Command Suite that All-Star Dude had a fiery discussion with GZW2K1 President Seth Richards that ended with President Richards sporting a black right eye and All-Star Dude literally destroying the Command Suite.
Rumor is afloat that in order to boost interest in his newest movie release, "ShackMan Begins", BDR will be broadcasting the first fifteen minutes during the intermission of Heatwave Six. There is talk that instead of a big cinema release "ShackMan Begins" will be shipping straight to DVD. Efforts to contact the filmmaker and manager of "Lord Deacon" Bane have proven fruitless.
As many have noticed Paul Gardner better known as Cruxis as been removed from the United States Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match at Heatwave Six and replaced with Ring of Honor Icon Nathan "T-Rex" Williams. The Booking Committee have officially stated the reasoning behind this is that Icon Williams has a shared history with the other two competitors (see Trystan Lloyd and Shane Ryder) in the match and that the former multi-champion's name carries more weight. It is to be believed though that Gardner had a closed door meeting with the Executive Committee a few days ago in which he was told that he would be relegated further back down the card until he can prove that he is able to "get over" better with the Globalverse crowd. It should be mentioned that Gardner is not booked in any matches on the pay-per-view and the next time he will see televised action is at Tuesday Titan on the fourth of August.
To follow up on recent reports, it has been confirmed that Hayden Hoshiko as well as GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion, Davina Cameron, will be posing nude. The magazine will not be Penthouse but an upstart London based adult magazine called T & A. It is said that both Globalstars will have separate pictorials but will appear together on the cover of the inaugural September issue.
