According to GroundZero Global sources within the Hong Kong Police Department, the city’s police force issued a warrant overnight for the immediate arrest of former HKWF and GZW2K1 Globalstar Clarence Bachman, known better as Reject. The Bethlehem, PA native has not been officially tied to G0G in over four years, though the fact that he is in town on the eve of Heatwave VI reportedly has the GZW2K1 Command Suite concerned that the notoriously volatile Reject may have other ideas as far as their annual event goes. The warrant follows an alleged robbery-assault at a downtown Hong Kong bar located within walking distance of Kowloon Park. GZW2K1 and HKWF have condemned the incident and have pledged to assist the authorities in any way they can. “We have increased on-site security,” said a GZW2K1 spokesperson, “Clarence Bachman is not a contracted G0G worker and is not welcome at Kowloon Park. The safety and security of our staff, talent and fans are of the utmost importance and should Mr. Bachman show up at the event at any time he will be apprehended and passed over to the authorities immediately. We urge all GZW2K1 fans – particularly those travelling to Hong Kong to enjoy Heatwave VI – to use caution when out and about in the locality. If anybody sees [Reject] we ask them to please contact the Hong Kong Police Department and stay out of harm’s way.”
Previous reports that former HKWF World Heavyweight Champion “Lone Gunman” Lord John Taylor was to be inducted into the new HKWF Ring of Hardkore have been officially withdrawn. Unofficial sources have claimed that Taylor met with HKWF chief John Profit earlier this month and snubbed the offer in person, though no official word has been given other than that any plans to induct Taylor have now been scrapped.
Disgraced former GZW2K1 Director of New Media Clancy McClean will be in attendance at Heatwave VI, according to a spokesperson for his multinational conglomerate CMC Corp. Squillionaire McClean was fired from his lofty executive position in 2006 after a disappointing run with the GZW2K1 United States Heavyweight Championship that saw the former HotWire columnist avoid defending the belt on several occasions before being stripped of it altogether. Whether his trip to Heatwave involves business or pleasure was not explicitly stated, though CMC Corp. spokesperson Tech Nishin’ confirmed that McClean had received a generous offer to appear onscreen at the event. McClean has proved popular with GZW2K1 fans and has been known over the years to provide an element of comic relief and entertainment, particularly useful at an event as bloody and violent as Heatwave traditionally is. Whether the man that Chris Cairns once referred to as “...better on the mic than anybody...” will make an appearance or not is unclear at this point, though Nishin’ did hint that McClean has spoken of more than a passing interest in GZW2K1 personality BDR and will be paying particular interest in the night’s main event match between Dowling’s client Bane and HKWF World Heavyweight Champion Eva “Nemesis” Corbin.
