AFTERMATH2K9 MAIN EVENT QUALIFYING MATCH
"THE BLACK ROSE" SHANE RYDER vs. "THE BIG SHOT" JOHN CHAMPA
"THE BLACK ROSE" SHANE RYDER vs. "THE BIG SHOT" JOHN CHAMPA
"X Gonna give it to ya" hits by DMX as John makes his way slowly out to the entrance way. He stops and raises both arms, (as to signify that he's the star) the lights go out and a spotlight shines down on John as he walks slowly to the ring, with a cocky stare on his face. He climbs up on the apron and eases his way into the ring. He stands in the center as sparks fall from the ceiling.
The lights dim out as pictures of war flash across the Zero-Tron. A United States flag appears on the screen and is quickly torn down the middle. Suddenly, Shane Ryders' face appears laughing as "Bad Religion" by Godsmack hits the sound system. Shane Ryder walks out from behind the curtains and stands at the top of the entrance ramp, no smile upon his face. He slowly walks down towards the ring, taunting the fans as he goes. He stops and turns around when he reaches the ring, raising his arms into the air. Shane enters the ring and climbs the nearest turnbuckle. He points at the fans, returning their vulgar comments towards him. The music fades out as Shane climbs down from the turnbuckle and leans into the corner with a smirk awaiting the start of the match.
Bell rings and the match starts with a tie-up, both men jostling for the advantage as these fans seems to be in clear support of Shane Ryder. Shane twists Champa's arm before hitting him with an elbow to the side of the head, Champa fighting back with a rake to Ryder's face before grabbing him and whipping him to the ropes, flooring him with a Jumping Sidekick on the rebound. Champa with an opportunistic early cover here, Ryder kicking out at one and a half! Tries to drag Ryder to his feet, Ryder elbowing him away.
Ryder hits a Dropkick with perfect execution, sending Champa down to the mat. Goes for the cover but Champa gets the clean and easy kick-out. Both men look healthy here tonight, Ryder and Champa of course both highly respected by their peers and said to be two of the most versatile talents, and - in Champa's case especially - most reliable Globalstars on the roster. Headlock from Ryder, dilligently applied. Either man capable of building a good feud with anybody on the roster and it'll be interesting to see how things pan out for these two in the build-up to Aftermath, and it'll be extremely interesting to see - DASTARDLY KICK TO THE GROIN OF SHANE RYDER FROM THE OPPORTUNISTIC JOHN CHAMPA!!! The fans jeers that one as Ryder stumbles backwards and sinks to his knees, the irate referee giving Champa a lecture accompanied by heaps of overly-animated finger-wagging! Suffice to say, Champa simply shoves the referee out of the way - so damn disrespecful!
Champa grabs Ryder and drops him with a DDT before going for three straight Leg Drops in quick succession, each one executed perfectly. Cover now from Champa but Ryder gets a shoulder up. Ryder looks to get back to a vertical base, but Champa catches him in a Reverse Chinlock. Nothing fancy here but both these men know how to tell a story in the ring and can change the face of a match at their merest whim - AND THAT'S JUST BEEN EXEMPLIFIED AS RYDER LIFTS CHAMPA UP FOR A BACK SUPLEX, CHAMPA FLIPPING OUT OF IT AND HITTING THE ROPES, TAKING RYDER DOWN WITH A - BAM!! - SWINGING NECKBREAKER!! COVER! ...Kick out! Close but no cigar for John Champa on this exchange!
John Champa - the former GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion - slaps the canvas in frustration before getting in the referee's face and questioning the speed of the count. The referee shouts at Champa to focus on the match. "DON'T TELL ME WHAT DO TO," Champa screams back. Champa shoves the referee, Ryder TAKING CHAMPA DOWN WITH A ROLL-UP FROM BEHIND! ONE! TWO!! TH- NO! Champa just managed to kick-out, but that was damn close! Champa's attitude damn-near cost him there, both men getting back to their feet and hitting opposing ropes, rebounding and Ryder taking Champa down with a sublime Hurracanrana! Cover and a kick-out from Champa, both men back up and Ryder going for a Twist of Fate, Champa twisting his way out of it before hooking Ryder in the jaw, doubling him over with a knee to the gut, before picking him up and dropping him with a PILEDRIVER!! Ryder dropped straight on his head in one of the Globalverse's most basic yet ghastly moves, always perfectly performed by Champa. Champa goes for the cover but Ryder just manages to erect a shoulder, this one continuing - main event spot at Aftermath2K9 on the line! Great opening contest here for Titan - solid wrestling and these fans appreciating it!
The two Globalstars get back to their feet, Ryder more gingerly. Champa grabs Ryder and backs him into the corner for a seires of Knife-Edge Chops before going to whip him across and into the opposing buckle, Ryder reversing and Champa hitting the steel post hard! John Champa stumbles back into the middle of the ring, straight into the clutches of Ryder, who takes him down to the mat with a sublime Belly To Belly Suplex! Big cheer from the fans, Ryder getting to his feet and heading to the top turnbuckle! Fans rise with their cameras poised for flashing, Champa down in the middle of the ring and Shane Ryder steadying himself upon the top turnbuckle!
Ryder takes a leap of faith from the top turnbuckle and goes for the FALLEN ANGEL (Diving Headbutt), but HE MISSES!! CHAMPA ROLLS OUT THE WAY AT THE VERY LAST CONCEIVABLE SECOND, RYDER'S FACE SMASHING INTO THE CANVAS!!! That one looked to be painful, Champa back to his feet and stalking Ryder from behind. Champa's poised like a lion, hovering over Ryder and looking to claim his kill! Ryder's wearily rising, John Champa going for STAR STRUCK (RKO)!!!
Ryder grabs Champa and shoves 'em forward, John Champa falling to his backside! He gets back up quick - surprised and frustrated - Ryder kneeing him in the gut before picking him up and sending him crashing straight back to the canvas with HEAVEN TO HELL (Crucifix Bomb > DDT)!!! That one hit hard! Looks like this match is gonna be over, Ryder dropping for the cover, referee dropping for the count. CHAMPA HAS A FOOT ON THE ROPES BUT THE REFEREE DOESN'T SEE IT! REFEREE MAKES THE COUNT: ONE! TWO!! THREE!!! DING! DING! DING!
Ryder exits the ring and grabs his Canadian and US belts, backing off up the entrance ramp as he celebrates, John Champa getting to his feet in the middle of the ring and absolutely livid. Champa screams at the referee, motioning that he had a foot on the ropes. The referee can only shrug and explain he didn't see it. CHAMPA DROPS THE REFEREE WITH A BIG RIGHT HAND!!! Champa is absolutely enraged here, kicking the bottom rope in sheer frustration, Shane Ryder celebrating on the entrance stage, having qualified for the Aftermath2K9 main event.
GZW2K1 W.C.E.K. TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: TELEVISION TURMOIL
THE MONGREL vs. "THE WOLF" BRIAN REAPER vs. VYPER
THE MONGREL vs. "THE WOLF" BRIAN REAPER vs. VYPER
Back out to ringside now, and Patrick Nelson is busy explaining to us the results of the "WILD CARD" GLOBALSTAR VOTE, meaning that this next match is going to be GZW2K1's first ever Television Turmoil match, whereby normal pin-fall and submission rules apply, but where the ring is surrounded by televisions of all different shapes and sizes - to be used as weapons! Television sets from through the ages are scattered all around ringside: black and white portable televisions, massive flat-screen HD televisions, televisions from all the decades since the time the device was invented. Some are sat on tables, others mounted on their own stands. There's even a table full of tiny pocket televisions, just by the entrance ramp.
The Mongrel is first to make his way out to the ring, receiving nothing but jeers, and looking as big and as threatening as ever. The former GZW2K1 Extreme Champion makes his way down to the ring, completely ignoring the fans as he goes, the Stooges hyping up his long-running rivalry with Vyper, and how it really has seemed to capture the imaginations of the fans - especially the younger fans of the Globalverse, who all seem to hold Vyper in high-regards. Mongrel looks around to all the television sets surrounding the ring, before climbing in and preparing himself for the match ahead.
Vyper is out next, receiving huge cheers from the fans in attendance here tonight at the GZW2K1 Coliseum. Todd Crumb informs us that Johnny Williams is perhaps one of the most gifted young men in the Globalverse today, insisting that he has a great future ahead of him. Joshua Samson disagrees, stating that Vyper continually runs into a brick wall by the name of 'Mongrel,' before stating his belief that this brick wall will never crumble, and Vyper will - sooner rather than later - end up seriously hurt. Vyper plays to the fans before climbing into the ring, he and Mongrel staring daggers at one another from opposite ends of the canvas.
AND HERE COMES THE GZW2K1 "WILD CARD" EDDIE KNOXVILLE TELEVISION CHAMPION!!! Eminem's "Go 2 Sleep" hits and the fans give a deafening jeer, "The Wolf" Brian Reaper making his way out onto the stage. Reaper looks absolutely huge - a true 'Genetic Freak' in every sense of the word, and it's gonna be interesting to see the results the next time GZW2K1 officials carry out tests with regards to the consumption of performance enhancing drugs! Nonetheless, Reaper makes his way down to the ring, ignoring the fans as he goes. He reaches ringside and grabs a fifteen inch CRT television monitor, climbing onto the apron with it and looking to step into the ring, VYPER HITTING THE TELEVISION WITH A DROPKICK STRAIGHT INTO REAPER'S FACE!!! Bell rings - DING! DING! DING! This match is underway, Brian Reaper and the television set falling to the arena floor in a heap!
Mongrel grabs Vyper from behind and takes him down to the canvas with a massive Pumphandle Powerslam - raw power there from Mongrel, and it looks terrifyingly stiff, even on television! The Mongrel kneels and traps the grounded Vyper in a Headlock, Reaper climbing back into the ring and this time with a small portable television, just a little smaller than a microwave, and SMASHING IT OVER MONGREL'S HEAD!!! Ooooh, that one looked painful, Mongrel trying to get back to his feet, but staggering into the ropes. There's a huge dent in the casing of the TV, Reaper running at Mongrel and smacking it into his head once again, the television breaking into various fragmented pieces as The Mongrel falls through the ropes and onto the apron!
The Stooges are astounded by the brutality here in the early going of this match, the fans seeming to have a great him as Vyper comes running at Brian Reaper, only to be hit by a stiff Muay Thai kick to the gut, stopping him dead in his tracks. Reaper grabs Vyper, lifting him up and taking him back to the mat with a stunning Belly To Belly Suplex! Brian Reaper really is terrific with those Suplexes, the defending Champion rolling to the outside and picking up a fairly dated looking Widescreen television, perhaps from the late nineties and running with it, smacking it into the Mongrel who was attempting to clear the cobwebs, kncoking him over the crowd barricade and into the front row of the fans! Vyper's on the outside too, waiting for Reaper to turn and face him, before THROWING A PORTABLE TV SET AT HIM FROM POINT BLANK RANGE!!! It hits Reaper straight between the eyes, who drops his widescreen TV and staggers backwards, Vyper grabbing him and executing an Irish Whip on the outside, Reaper careering at high-speed into a huge Plasma Screen monitor sat beside the Pig Latin announce table, the monitor shattering and the television falling over as Reaper hits with hard impact!
Vyper sees The Mongrel climbing back over the crowd barricade and to ringside, running at him and looking to unleash some offense, The Mongrel grabbing Vyper by around the throat however, and hitting him with a HUGE CHOKESLAM THROUGH THE TABLE FULL OF HAND-HELD POCKET TELEVISIONS!!! "AAAAAOW MAAAAAH GAAAAAAWD," screams Todd Crumb, these fans going absolutely nuts.
THE MONGREL CHOKESLAMS VYPER ONTO THE FLAT SCREEN TELEVISION'S SURFACE!! THE GLASS CRACKS UNDER THE IMPACT!
