old news from a few days back....
-Joey Styles wrote on Twitter last night that his WWE contract expires on Friday.
- There is talk of Bret Hart returning soon as part of a new angle with the Hart Dynasty.
- Dolph Ziggler was checked for a concussion following Sunday’s match with Kaval at the Survivor Series PPV. He was kept out of the ring at television this week as a precaution.
- The younger brother of Dolph Ziggler, Ryan Nemeth, 26, started training with OVW in Louisville about four months ago. He’s said to be a taller, better looking version of Ziggler who is past his brother as a pro at this stage of the game. He also has an MA in English from Xavier University and is the author of a novel titled, I Can Make Out With Any Girl Here.

Lanny Poffo reported on his Poetry in Motion podcast Wednesday that WWE Hall of Famer Bobby “The Brain” Heenan has been in and out of a coma at a Tampa, Florida hospital and isn’t doing good at all. Poffo added that Heenan wasn’t aware of anything and has been unconscious.
MVP posted the following message on Twitter:
"Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan is in bad shape. Yrs ago he encouraged & complimented me ! Keep him in your thoughts & send positive vibes his way!"
However, indy promoter David Herro said the following:
"Just spoke with Cindy Heenan the lovely wife of 'The Brain', Bobby is NOT in a coma &is not in the hospital. He's home resting his hip."
**
There are multiple reports out there about the condition of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.
PWR spoke to Cindy Heenan today and found out that the reports are false regarding his condition worsening.
Heenan is home and as well as he can be given his condition. He is not hospitalized or in a coma as some people are reporting. Heenan was hospitalized several weeks ago for a hip injury but has since been sent home.
This is another example of some wrestling news sites "hot shotting" stories and reporting them without verifying information. In this case it is especially disturbing as it was being reported that he was in a near death situation

WWE house show in Salisbury, Maryland last night. ~~ Cody Rhodes revealed in an interview with WWE Magazine that the contents of his brother Goldust's forthcoming book, Cross Rhodes, were surprising to him. "I've heard my dad's stories, I saw his DVD, and I've heard some of Goldust's stories. But even as his brother, there was so much that I hadn't heard," Rhodes said. "He was very open in the writing of this book and talked very honestly about his career and his choices and how the things that have happened to him have affected it. I honestly think it's going to shock readers." When asked to dish out some of the dirt in the book, Rhodes says Goldust openly discusses working and traveling with Marlena. "Cross Rhodes is one of those 'dirty secret' books, and anyone who's a Goldust fan is going to find something interesting," he added.

hopefully it stays in the house show scene...I don't hate the idea especially since its an ol' school staple but for this angle I think it distracts from the seriousness of the feud between Cena/Barrett...on the plus side though imagine if this takes off and WWE would further push MORE Cena merchadise with Juan Cena masks...

-- It was said to be "night and day" in regards to Triple H producing the announcers instead of Vince McMahon during WWE's television events in England a few weeks ago—which the WWE chairman missed. "The Game" reportedly said little to the announcers during the broadcasts, which was a huge change of pace from the usual swearing and screaming. Furthermore, when he had a point to make, he waited until a break to say it.
-- It's said to be no secret that Jim Ross wants to return to the announce booth. His appearance on Raw two weeks ago resulted in overwhelming sentiment that he should return, but his fate lies in the hands of Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn, who prefer youth—though Jerry Lawler is three years older than Ross. Furthermore, Lawler and Cole have pushed for Ross to replace Matt Striker as the third man for pay-per-view broadcasts, whom they dislike. McMahon, however, feels the pay-per-view broadcast team should be limited to those who work television.
-- WWE officials were said to be very happy and surprised at the amount of mainstream media attention The Miz' WWE Championship victory last week on Raw received. His win was covered by TMZ, Access Hollywood, ESPN.com, Entertainment Tonight and MTV, among others.
- The way The Miz was booked on Monday's RAW in a surprise match with Jerry Lawler was to enforce the idea that he is an "undeserving" and "vulnerable" champion. WWE want to play on the idea that he could lose the title at any time.
- Despite Michael Cole's interference during Lawler's title match on RAW this past Monday, the commentary team is expected to remain the same next week.

Miz's title run angle sounds the same as Mysterio's. Also, what's wrong with Striker's commentary? Last time I heard it (quite some time, I admit), he was quite good.

- On the latest episode of the Highway 2 Helms show, former WWE star "Hurrican" Shane Helms did not have kind words for Shawn Michaels. When co-host Marty Gardner asked Helms who his least favorite wrestler of all-time is, Helms answered Shawn Michaels. Helms noted that HBK was an idol of his when he grew up, but says that, "he really let me down as a person." Helms went on to say that Michaels is "the biggest hypocrite in the business" and that "his whole religious gimmick is a f***ing work".
Helms made sure to note that Michaels as a performer was great, mentioning his matches with Undertaker, but then called Michaels "cock-eyed cross-eyed piece of sh**."
From there, Helms told a story about being so angry at Michaels at a show last year that he wanted to hit him, not caring if he got fired by WWE over it. Michaels was apparently having an argument with Chris Jericho at catering and was verbally attacking Jericho, which Helms did not agree with. Helms also noted that Michaels is "one of the biggest drug users in the history of the business...who has snorted more coke and done more steroids" than anybody else in wrestling.

Wow. Strong words from Helms. And sadly, it sounds believable considering a lot of other (former) disgruntled wrestlers that have worked with him. It's sad when some of the best in-ring performers are pieces of shit backstage, and the ones that really aren't "phenomenal" are the hardest working, noble, and charitable beings in the business (Cena).
And I want that DVD NOW! One of the greatest rivalries in WWE history!

To update the earlier report by Steve Gerweck, Goldust stated on Twitter that he would be getting surgery this Friday on his shoulder, keeping him out of action for the next five to six months.
"Ok guys....surgery Friday mornin.....prayers for the golden one....be out for 5 to six months they say....it is what it is....believe I will. For those that think its over for goldie.....u r sadly mistaken....believe....#crossrhodes get it and believe"
~~
and the war of words between former WWE superstars Shane Helms and Shawn Michaels continues.
Once again, Helms has gone on Twitter and essentially called Michaels a hypocrite for claiming to be a devout Christian while still "murdering animals" and hanging their heads on his wall (ie. hunting). Helms wrote:
"I think I might go murder some animals for fun and hang their heads on my wall cuz that's what Jesus would do. Right @shawnmichaels_ ?"
Once again, HBK was prompted by his Twitter followers to respond to Helms' remarks. Like last time, Michaels takes a cool, laid back approach and signs off with another smiley face..
"Jus got bak. Wow u guys r fired up! Sorry u have 2 deal w/it. Don't worry, I don't. Comes w/the territory. have zero desire 2 do the internet stuff other than corresponding w/u. U can make ur own decisions & I will respect them. May I now return to having fun w/ u all please. Life is 2 short 4 me 2 go thru High school again:-) "

Clever. Even if he is a dick behind the scenes, Michaels is conducting himself a lot better in the public sphere than Helms is.
Regardless of where you work, if there are enough people there, then there is going to be friction. When you walk into a supermarket, do you consider what animosity there might be between the staff? Because there will likely be tonnes. Two-faced bitchiness, arguments and ill feeling are all part and parcel of a workplace, I don't care. All that matters to me when I'm in their supermarket is how they conduct themselves by me.
I've had all sorts of professional animosities with people. Some people I think are dickheads, others who think I'm a stuck-up wanker. None of this stuff ever needs to go public. Good on HBK.

True, Helms isn't coming out of this looking good, there's a lot of bitterness and dealing with it this way will do him no favours, especially insulting fans.
