Joey Styles just announced on Twitter that this year's Royal Rumble will be the biggest Rumble in WWE history. Styles wrote on @joeystyles:
"This year, there will be 40 participants in the Royal Rumble Match instead of 30. It will be the biggest Royal Rumble Match in history!"

I absolutely LOVE the Rumble stat promos WWE does....I have no interest in the match itself but by watchin' the promo for it makes me highly interested for a brief few moments....

I just hope no former Rumble winner wins....this should be the time when they push younger people like Kofi, Alberto or Morrison, but I think they will go with Cena winning just to set up a match with him against the Champ at Mania, and I don't think they will let Miz main event and instead go with Orton/Cena part 10000000.

I'm leanin' toward an Alberto gettin' the first spot...winnin' the thing....breakin' Rey's record...and then goin' on to face the Smackdown champ at WM...

One of the main reasons behind WWE expanding the field of 30 participants to 40 for this year’s Royal Rumble match is due to management feeling that this year’s Royal Rumble had little or no monument headed in, according to Wrestling Observer Newsletter editor Dave Meltzer. The expanded field will also allow creative a chance to hide superstar’s greenness and the fact that many wrestlers are clearly not over. Many wrestlers will be rushed in and out, and a larger number of eliminations by individual wrestlers are possible with an expanded field of participants.
