With increased talk of GroundZero Wrestling 2K1 Globalstars Lord Leon Corbin and Ring of Honor Icon Nathan "T-Rex" Williams looking to secure a title match in United Japan Wrestling for the SuperHeavyweight Championship currently held by Hiroyoshi Nakanishi word has reached our ears that neither GZW2K1 Globalstars are currently in the running. High ranking officials inside UJW, that wished to remain nameless, have stated that "neither of the gaijin are suitable for the Ferocious Lion. With all due respect to Icon Williams and Lord Corbin, UJW is looking to bring something fresh and new without relying so heavily on the past like our sister federation does in GZW2K1." As of press time there has been no official word but we will keep everyone posted as more news develops.
Finally, we have some idea who Nakanishi will make his V1 defense of the UJW SuperHeavyweight Title against but won’t know until January 30th at Korakuen when Kijo Kanemura and Miles Mason go to war in a Number One Contendership match. Kanemura is the man who dethroned Mason at Sumo Hall in October, which has grated at Mason ever since. Mason considers himself the Number One Contender after beating Chiyo Tanaka yesterday but Kanemura wants a rematch against Nakanishi. Whoever wins that bout will face Nakanishi at February’s big show, “THE NEW BEGINNING”, on February 20th at Sendai Sun Plaza Hall.
