History

OWF used to be two separate companies; UnReal wrestling, which featured a variety of wrestling styles and some very unusual people, and Titan Wrestling Entertainment, which was known for having a number of very large combatants, looking for those who stood at 6'5" and above. This was not easy to achieve and so it later dropped the policy and kept the name.

Both had their own divisions, but because of their indy status, regularly featured members of the other company's roster, improving relations between then-owners Terry Watts (TWE) and James Wyndorf (URW).

When hard times hit, both men sought to save their companies by merging together to form one bigger fed. With all of their stars in the same pool, they felt they stood a chance at survival. It did work for a while, with huge tournaments to decide who would hold unified titles. It went over great at first, but eventually, the place known affectionately as "The Merger" went bust.

After a good while, former GZW2K1 New Regime executive Harvey Gibson and James Wyndorf got talking, eventually deciding to resurrect the indy haven for young and older wrestlers alike, renaming it Omni-Wrestling Federation, the "Omni" part representing the reunification of all who helped make it what it was, done with the hopes of building up from there.

Notes

The most exciting for most fans is said to have been Grand Tournament III as Mordo looked like he was going to be the first to not only win two tounaments, but to win them back-to-back. Since then, he has been unable to progress to the final stage.

Grand Tournament VI is to be hosted in OWF's home ground in Baltimore.

As it is held over a weekend, there is something of a festival feel to it and as the arena is used throughout that weekend, some fans have been known to camp in the standing area or in another part of the arena, which usually leads to some kind of trouble.
