The lights throughout the arena dim, signalling the start of something big. A few startled shouts sound within the crowd at the sudden plunge into darkness, throwing the masses into the unknown against their will. As the electronic static starts to drift over the PA some of the lights return, flashing in sync with the added drum beat of Nine Inch Nails’ “We’re in the together”. The Zerotron comes to life with a revolving image, a silver emblem of the Kindred Elite. The Kindred logo fades to be replaced by a close up of the 2007 Lord of the Coliseum, the Kindred leader glares into the camera, shark like stare leaving no doubt about his intentions. His image fades to the lesser of the two evils, Eva in all of her maliciously twisted glory. Scenes of the pair showing their dominance over the rest of the roster kick in with the spotlights turning red, a match for the crimson liquid flowing freely in the close ups of Locke, Champa, Bane among just some of the names as they are taken apart by the elite of the sport. All eyes turn to the rampway as the Kindred couple step from behind the curtain.
[Commentary]
Hand in hand they simply stare at the restless masses, smiles gracing their perfectly made up faces even as the sheep bay for their blood. They bask in the abuse, savouring the spotlight and attention. Loved or hated they had earned their reaction. The young Lord releases his wife’s hand. Looking up at him she smiles, a brief crack in her emotionless façade. Turning her full attention to the task at hand she resumes her mask, her full focus turns to the ring as they both begin to walk towards it. Leon walks slightly behind, stopping every so often to smirk at the pitiful attempts at wit from the crowds, or to throw the odd insult. The woman known to the crowds as Nemesis slides under the bottom rope coming to rest in the centre of the ring on her knees, she turns her head as her stable mate joins her. He offers her his hand, pulling her to her feet to stand beside him. They move towards the turnbuckles, climbing them they stand in the spotlight of the worlds press. The flash from the force of the cameras illuminates them as they throw their hands in the air. Jumping down they turn to their corner while their opponents are made to look on and watch.
