Ring of Honor Icon Union Jack lives in the Costa del Sol, Spain, where he is landlord of notorious British pub “The Butcher Shop”. The pub is a popular tourist attraction as it houses a lot of rare memorabilia from Jack’s career spanning the PWW, EWO and eventually GZW2K1. Rumours that the pub also acts as a front business for a well-known London crime gang are as yet unfounded, although a number of high-ranking British crime figures have been spotted at the bar or enjoying some of Jack’s famous hotpot.
Brian Sabre has retired from professional wrestling and works as a road agent for thrash metal band Slayer. The former HKWF World Heavyweight Champion lives with his wife and children in Oakland, California and accompanies the band on all of their tours within the United States.
Philip Tytan has returned to the University of Southern California, completing his undergraduate studies in 2008. Tytan had attended the university before being picked up by GZW2K1 in 2004. He was a decorated football player, though an injury to his left knee took him out of commission and he has never played professionally since. He returned to USC in 2007, completing his undergraduate work a year later, and is now studying fulltime for a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Ring of Honor Icon Jason Machiavelli still lives in Brooklyn, New York. Having lost his wife and the mother of his child some years ago, Machiavelli has since remarried and the couple are expecting. He presents a weekly radio program and acts as chairman of the Helen Machiavelli Foundation, a charitable organisation formed in the wake of his wife’s death. The foundation provides funding for public education in the greater Brooklyn area. He still regularly attends GZW2K1 shows with his six-year-old son Nathaniel.
“The Root” Amun Ma’at dropped off the public radar shortly after his GZW2K1 career came to a close. Numerous efforts to contact the former United States Heavyweight Champion by this publication have failed. Rumours circulated late last year that he had been arrested under the Patriot Act and was being held as a ghost detainee at Guantanamo Bay, although there is obviously no way to confirm this.
Reject is still somewhat active on the North American Indy circuit. Though notoriously unreliable – famously called a “booker’s nightmare” by a nameless GZG source – he remains a big enough draw with American audiences to warrant the sporadic bookings he receives. He operates out of his native Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and works about one show per month.
