An unofficial source within GZW2K1 has hinted that the Command Suite are currently looking into a number of ways to shake up the company’s televised product leading into the 2011 Summer Heat Tour. One possibility that is reportedly being “heavily considered” is a special Crimson broadcast dedicated to the resolution of old feuds between Globalstars past and present. Tentatively titled Crimson’s “Night of the Long Knives”, the card would be concerned not so much with current goings-on within the Globalverse but rather focus itself as a mix of old and new and would be made up exclusively of grudge matches.
Rumoured to be high on the company’s wish list is a clash between Ring of Honor Icons Sincere and Jason Machiavelli. Machiavelli’s promising career came to a premature end in 2001 as a result of an unsanctioned backstage attack by Sincere. The generally good-natured Machiavelli is said to still harbour a grudge against “The Jade Dragon”.
In addition, GZW2K1 mainstay Bane is tipped to take on retired Ring of Honor Icon and 2004 Lord of the Coliseum “Lone Gunman” John Taylor. The two clashed in a HKWF ring in 2004, which saw Taylor lose his HKWF World Heavyweight Championship to “The God of Pain” in one of the most divisive upsets in GZG history. Reports indicate that neither man has spoken to the other in the seven years that have passed.
The company is set to begin contacting a number of retired Globalstars in the coming weeks to try and gauge the feasibility of the project. Other big names in whom the company has interest include Sean “Magic” Fiery, Quake, Rupert Martin, Pimp Bizkit, Sho “Firefly” Murakame, Vernon Vanderbilt, Lord Jon Kellar, “Smooth Operator” Billy Bond and the ever-elusive Lord Deacon Kane. Our source indicates that a high level of creative control will be granted to the Globalstars involved so as to do justice to the feuds and rivalries.
