On the evening of April 22, police reported a man assaulted and unconscious in downtown London.
A witness on the scene said that she was accosted after leaving a local pub. According to her, the victim attempted to pick her up earlier that evening, but she refused. He followed her into an alley and tried to force himself on her. Out of nowhere, an unidentified man punched the victim in the face. The man then attacked the victim for a short time before the witness saw blue light as the victim went limp. The unidentified man stood over the victim for a second, then ran away without speaking. The victim has been taken to the Royal London Hospital, where he will be questioned after receiving medical attention.
The witness said she never saw her apparent rescuer's face, but did note that he was well-dressed and athletic. No other details are available at this time, but as the stranger seemed to be acting in the defense of the witness, the London police are not pressing charges until more information is known.
