Contest of Champions X
(Over the top battle royale: Final two Globalstars compete in singles match to determine winner: Winner receives GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship shot)
It was a grueling (in a good way) battle that eventually came down to Jimmy Williams and Ring of Honor Icon Nathan Williams facing off in single combat. Icon T-Rex tried every trick going as far as having New Era get in involved. But the United Front helped turn the tide which insured the win for the Real Deal.
Winner: "Real Deal" Jimmy Williams
Tag Team Match
Genetic Royalty (Connor O'Reily and "Ultimate Predator" Brian Reaper) versus The Champions (Emilio and Victor Champion)
A good back and forth tag match. The Champions were really crisp and showed great improvement since their first appearance years ago in GZW2K1.
Winner: Genetic Royalty
"Wild Card" Eddie Knoxville Television Championship Match
The Mongrel versus Kolic
From the onset Mongrel dominated the match with his overwhelming power and strength. Kolic braved through but was simply no match.
Winner: The Mongrel - new W.C.E.K TV Champion
GZW2K1 World Tag Team Championship Match: Extreme Match
(To Be Announced) and "Vicious" Lord Leon Corbin versus Law and Disorder ("Cold Justice" Timothy Jones and "Dangerous" Ronnie Dane)
Sadly I didn't get to see any of this match as it started and ended while I was at the concession stand. Supposedly for TV purposes the match was shortened to a two minute squash. Guy next to me said that he read somewhere that Lord Corbin was in the doghouse again and that was the reason behind the squash.
Winner: Law and Disorder - still World Tag Team Champions
GZW2K1 Intercontinental Heavyweight Championship Match
"The Big Shot" John Champa versus "The Spark" Sean Locke
The two went at it like two caged beasts. I was quite surprised at the ability of both guys throughout the match.
Winner: "Big Shot" John Champa - new IC Heavyweight Champion
GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Championship Match
Vyper versus Ring of Honor Icon James "Monarch" Corbin
With the rumoured news about Icon Monarch's health the crowd exploded with "One More Match" when the World Champ came out. It was hard to tell just by looking at him but if he was sick it didn't show in the match. The match was class with plenty of nearfalls by both wrestlers.
