"LONE GUNMAN" DISAPPOINTS GZW2K1 OFFICIALS BY REJECTING LUCRATIVE OFFER
It is said that Icon Lord John Taylor has rejected a lucrative offer from GZW2K1 to appear as a special guest announcer at Heatwave VIII. Sources say "The Lone Gunman" felt the role would not be a suitable one, with the potential to tarnish his legacy, and it is now believed that he will not accept an offer at any price. The 2004 Wrestler of the Year is known not to be a team-player, but this must be viewed as a significant blow for GroundZero officials regardless. The Creative Team were banking heavily on having Taylor positioned as a 'special attraction' on the card, in order to boost pay-per-view buys.
It is our belief that GZW2K1 is preparing a follow-up offer for Taylor, of which the monetary sum is said to be "astronomical."
"BLASTS FROM OUR PAST" BATTLE ROYALE IN JEOPARDY
As reported elsewhere, GZW2K1 is having a tough time trying to convince former Globalstars to return for a one-off "Nostalgia" Battle Royale which is tentatively set to take place at Heatwave VIII.
Names such as Icon Lord Sean Fiery and Icon Billy Bond have been approached to take part, but the general consensus in that these legendary Globalstars have no interest in being 'shoe-horned' onto what will likely already be a jam-packed card.
Jason Machiavelli is one name who is rumoured to have flat-out refused an offer from GZW2K1. Machiavelli infamously had his ring name changed from "Fubu" and to "Fabu" during his most recent GZW2K1 appearance in a one-off return back in 2009. The name change was due to GZW2K1's fear of legal action from food manufacturers Kraft, who manufacture a candy bar called "Fubu." Machiavelli was said to be 'highly insulted' by the name change, of which he wasn't even made aware until he was watching his return back on television, and heard the announcers continually refer to him by his new, legally-safe alias.
GZW2K1 officials are said to be "scampering like mad" in order to bring together enough big name talents in order to justify the existence of this match on the Heatwave VIII card.
QUAKE TO HEADLINE HEATWAVE VIII?
Rumours are running rampant that recently returned 2005 Wrestler of the Year Quake has been chosen to headline Heatwave VIII, with his opponent of course being GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion Icon Nathan Williams. Quake is said to have a lot of support backstage, being referred to by one source as "a genuinely nice guy who doesn't play politics."
Many felt this would be the year where Vyper headlines a major GZW2K1 pay-per-view, but the youngster is said to have fallen out of favour with management due to a lack of conviction and passion, as well as a distinct inability to cut a half-decent promo.
FORMER GZW2K1 WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION POOPS PANTS AT INDY SHOW
We have it on very good authority that former GZW2K1 World Heavyweight Champion Zachary Sharp pooped his pants at a house show this past month in Calgary. "The Ace" was making a one-off appearance for Canadian Stampede Wrestling in a match against Adam Cage. Apparently Cage sent Sharp into the turnbuckle with an Irish Whip and the sheer impact caused Zac's bowels to unload, giving the family-orientated audience far more than they bargained for, as poo began to run down the innards of Zac's legs with reckless abandon! After clearing the excrement from the ring, one road agent was apparently heard to say: "that was a pretty shitty affair ." Humiliated, it is said that Zachary Sharp declined to comment, his publicist citing a curry he consumed the night before as the cause of the embarrassing incident. Zachary Sharp has already been nicknamed "Saint Turned Shitter" on various wrestling forums.
