TNA Wrestling's announcement on May 23 that Terry Taylor, Director of Talent Relations, made the decision to leave the organization, is reportedly a cover excuse.
The latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Taylor was fired by the organization on May 20. It is believed that he was let go due to allegations made against him in a lawsuit filed by a former performer.
The report adds that it may not necessarily be Shannon Spruill's (a/k/a Daffney) lawsuit against the organization, although his name was implicated.
Taylor and creative writer Vince Russo coaxed Daffney into performing a dangerous spot at the October 18, 2009 pay-per-view event Bound for Glory in which she would go through a board covered with barbed wire, reasoning that it was important for the ongoing feud between Abyss and Mick Foley. Daffney, who was hesitant on the idea, was assured that she would be fine and taken care of. She performed the spot, which resulted in her being chokeslammed from the ring apron by Abyss onto a board covered with barbed wire. She suffered a concussion taking the maneuver and was taken to a local hospital via ambulance. Furthermore, Spike TV wouldn't allow TNA to air the spot during iMPACT! due to their policy on men-on-women violence.
Daffney's trip to the emergency room resulted in a substantial medical bill, which Taylor stalled TNA from paying and ultimately was not. The lawsuit also claims she was pressured to continue performing after suffering two additional concussions. She suffered a concussion after being hit on the head with a toolbox by Tara following their match on the February 18, 2010 episode of iMPACT!. On April 20, 2010, she was injured in a dark match against an obese green worker by the name of Miss Betsy and was taken to an Orlando area hospital, where she was diagnosed with a concussion, as well as a deeply bruised sternum and a severe stinger.
Chief Financial Officer Dean Broadhead will oversee contractual matters while former WWE executive Bruce Prichard will handle Taylor's remaining duties.

Following her recent return to the national wrestling scene for TNA Wrestling, things were starting to look good for Chyna's future in the business. She appeared to be in good shape on television, all indications were that she was professional to work with and there was talk of TNA signing her to a long-term contract. That was until news came out that Chyna is getting back into the porn business.
TMZ.com is reporting that TNA told Chyna point blank - if her new sex tape comes out, she will never work for them again.
Chyna's latest hardcore adult movie "Backdoor Into Chyna" is set to be relased by Vivid Video later this month - and TNA has informed her that their previous contract offer is dead.
Chyna told TMZ, "The whole thing has been constant drama ... it's all good in the end ... [TNA] is missing the boat ... FREEDOOOM!"

While neither side has spoken about this publicly as of yet, it looks like when Mick Foley was "fired" on Impact Wrestling, this was not only his storyline exit from TNA but his actual last appearance with the promotion. His TNA contract doesn't expire until September but it looks like he's done already.
The word is that with Foley's recent Twitter comments about TNA house shows being considered "Empty Arena Matches," he likely knew he was coming to the end of his run there.
Both sides have been frustrated in recent months. Foley was upset that TNA never promoted or addressed many of his outside projects. Others within TNA described Foley as being hard to work with.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that the reason The Network storyline ended up making no sense is because Mick Foley asked for his release due to creative differences and so they had to write him out. He has not officially been released but it is expected to happen shortly.

The New York Times is reporting that the UFC is in talks with Comcast to buy the G4 gaming network from the cable giant. If the deal goes through, UFC would move their programming from SpikeTV to their own network. UFC's deal with Spike runs about six more months. If UFC leaves, that makes TNA Impact Wrestling easily the network's most valuable show. Impact is usually the highest rated show on Spike while UFC draws a better advertising rate and thus more money. With the MMA group gone, TNA becomes even more vital to Spike's strategy than they already are.
Another twist to this situation is where WWE fits in. They have been talking about starting their own network for years now, including considering buying a low-rated existing network and then transforming it. If the UFC deal goes through, they could watch firsthand how such a transformation works (or doesn't work) and gain valuable insight about the process.

- Regarding his departure from TNA, Mick Foley wrote the following on Twitter the other night:
"I pushed hard for changes I felt would benefit Impact Wrestling. I can understand how some would interpret that as difficult to work with.
I like everyone at @impactwrestling - we just had some major differences of opinion. I wish them all well...for real.
I bet I can give you a personal highlight of my short-lived return to Impact/TNA that no one will ever guess. Want to try?
OK, so before I tell you one of my favorite parts of returning to TNA, remember, I don't work there, so I have NO reason to make this up.
One of my favorite parts of returning to @impactwrestling was getting to know @hulkhogan4real a little bit. I'm completely serious.
Yes, @ironbound36 - I do personally like @hulkhogan4real , and got a rush out of the in-ring segments we did together, especially the first."
