Name: William Black
Nicknames(s): NA
Height: 6'3" Weight: 265 lbs.
Hometown: Phoenix, AZ
D.O.B.: 31 July, 1978
Face/Heel status: Heel
Description: William Black's out of ring attire consists of anything and everything that's expensive and flashy. He's a bit on the hardass side of things, so William Black tends to enjoy darker, more brooding colors - usually black or grey. He rarely wears jewelry, but William Black is universally seen with a tumbler full of Bombay Sapphire and an expensive cigar.
When it comes to William Black's physical appearance, he leaves little to be desired. Mr. Black is a real piece of work. He has quick, nearly lightning fast movements and a powerful, confidant stance which gives a natural menacing aura. While not brutish or thuggish, William Black has more defined and methodic approach. Blessed with a commanding presence, a natural menace, and a playboy's sense of style, William Black strikes quite an imposing figure. William Black has long, dark brown hair and a perpetual five o'clock shadow. He tends to wear a scowl or smirk on his face at all times.
As far as ring attire, William Black is an adamant believer in the phrase "Function of Fashion" opting for plain black, loose fitting wrestling pants which he keeps tucked inside his boot and held up tight with a studded leather belt. Mr. Black fights bare chested, with his hair tied off in a braided ponytail and his wrists taped up with - you guessed it - black tape. Several distinguishing tattoos adorn William Black's body, including a grouping of all four aces on his right forearm and a full bird, colored phoenix tattoo on his back.
Brief Bio: William Black is a fighter. In fact, he's a bonafide hardass. Being a pretty boy with a well off background, he was attracted to fighting as both a way to show off, and to put himself over as a genuine tough guy. However, being a good fighter wasn't enough. William wanted to be a perfect fighter. But being the perfect fighter isn't a goal easily or quickly achieved. First, William Black trained his body and reflexes to be as close as he can get to physical perfection. William Black evolved from his basic street fighting abilities when he used a portion of his fortunes to hire military specialists. After picking up what he could from Commando Training, William's next move was to spend six more months of intense training, learning American Boxing, Judo, and Tae Kwon Do
Once William Black was convinced that his body was capable of the results he desired, and once he was convinced he had a well rounded, complete mix of offensive and defensive skills, he sought out several west coast trainers. William Black continued to train, adding the brutality of shoot fighting to his list of expertise. However, he was discontent with this, because he still didn't have a solid, psychological foundation to fighting. What good was fighting if you couldn't pick and choose the flow of the fight before ever throwing a punch of applying a chokehold? Finally, in the name of becoming the ultimate fighter, William Black sought out some of the greatest names in professional wrestling. His goal at this point was learning how to put the fight together - to control the fight and to work a crowd or audience without ever letting them know he was doing it.
After his training was complete, William Black put his theories on fighting to the test. He was offered a position in the BMWF on his first application with a 12 - 2 yes to no vote ratio.
Fighting Style: William Black's wrestling style can best be summed up with three words. Lethal, Efficient, and Controlling. William Black is a striker, but he's also a technical masterpiece. His most common tactics are to link his attacks together with a variety of moves and holds that set opponants up for bigger and more dangerous assaults. While he's no stranger to opportunity, William Black detests "Hardcore" wrestling with an intensity that borders on violence if the subject is even brought up. To him, "Hardcore" wrestlers are talentless, worthless, unoriginal wannabes who shouldn't even be in the business.
Finisher: The Blacklash. William Black's original finisher was The Empty Chamber '03, a variant of a Sidewalk Slam, however, the move lacked the lethal dose he was looking for, so he changed it. The Blacklash starts off like a Chokeslam, but that's where the similarities between it and said Chokeslam end. After grabbing an opponant's throat, William Black immediately throws himself on his back in a fashion not unlike a Russian Legsweep. The resulting move - The Blacklash - pulls the victim face first to the ground. The resulting impact is quite sufficient to cause a knockout, but can just as easily break noses.
Setup Combination:
William Black leads into The Blacklash with a Flying Forearm strike out of the corner..
Other moves: William Black is quite accomplished, posessing a wide range of easily linked together moves.
The Empty Chamber '03 (exact same move as Matt Hardy's Side Effect)
The Blacklock (a Cobra Clutch)
Tiger Driver
Fist Drop
Fallaway Slam with a
Death Valley Driver
Cross Armbreaker
Flying Elbow Drop
Superkick
Triangle choke
Bodyslam
Arm Drag
Superplex
Back Suplex
Spinebuster
Headlock
Judo Hip Throw
Back Body Drop
Sleeper Hold
Fisherman's Suplex (Bridge)
Guillatine Choke
Butterfly Suplex
Tilt-a-Whirl Piledriver
DDT
Running Clothesline
Russian Legsweep
Low Blow
Brainbuster
Northern Lights Suplex (Bridge)
Heel tactics: William Black is a master of heel tactics and ring psychology. He's absolutely wonderful when it comes to scoring with low blows and cheapshots. He's even better when his valet, Spirit, is at ringside, ready and waiting to cause an appropriate distraction or to crash a bottle of Bombay Sapphire across the back of somebody's head. When William Black chooses to use weapons - which happens more then one might think considering how much he hates Hardcore wrestling - he uses Numchucks, Baseball Bats, and the typical, steel chair.
Entrance Music: "Swampsong" by Tool
Entrance: William Black's exact entrance to the ring changes on a night to night basis, but one thing remains the same. The lights dim down to darkness, with blacklights illuminating the stage. Neon blue lights blink on and off, leading the way to the ring. It's simple. It's effective, and it meshes with the eerie bassline to Tool's Swampsong.
